Another week, another PlayStation Store update. Ready? Here we go…

  • Game of Thrones: The Lost Lords (PS3, PS4) is the second episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones adaptation. With four more episodes planned, there’s going to be a lot more story to come.
  • Apotheon (PS4) is a side-scrolling platformer with a Greek mythology motif.
  • Risk (PS4) is a console rendition of the popular game of “Global Domination.”
  • Criminal Girls: Invite Only (Vita) is a wacky JRPG that asks players to save a group of teenage girls from a life of eternal damnation by “punishing” them to increase their fighting skills.
  • Kick & Fennick (Vita) is a platformer starring Kick, “a little boy with a very big gun,” and Fennick, “a small flying robot.” Sounds like fun.

More information on all of these games (and a few others) can be found after the break. And as always, this week’s new game add-ons and discounts can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Here’s the launch trailer for Game of Thrones: The Lost Lords… because it launches today

The second episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones adaptation, Game of Thrones: The Lost Lords, is all set to be released this week on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and mobile platforms. So naturally, Telltale has released a brand new launch trailer for the game. In case you need to be caught up, here’s what players can expect from The Lost Lords:

House Forrester is in disarray. Their liege lord and his heir are dead, and Ironrath is occupied by Whitehill soldiers. The survival of the family depends upon those who are left.

Placed at King’s Landing, the epicenter of intrigue, Mira Forrester must weigh her loyalty to Margaery Tyrell against the needs of her family, while choosing how to play the political games of Tyrion Lannister. One misstep could spell doom for Mira and her entire family. To the far north, Gared Tuttle finds that the wall and its crows hold little love for a squire from the Wolfswood, but finds kinship in the bastard son of Ned Stark.

Gared must prove worthy of becoming a ranger in order to carry out the mission given him; one that is vital to the future of those he serves. To the east, Asher Forrester, the exiled son, is called back to Westeros to aid his family, but how can one man help when the Boltons rule the north with an iron fist? Meanwhile, an unexpected source of hope returns to the Forresters, but Ironrath is no place for the weak.

Telltale has planned a staggered release schedule for Game of Thrones: The Lost Lords. PC, PS3, and PS4 players will be able to play it beginning today while Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will have to wait until tomorrow. Finally, Android and iOS will get a crack at The Lost Lords on Thursday.

Telltale will release Game of Thrones: The Lost Lords in two weeks

Episode Two of Telltale’s Game of Thrones adaptation is almost ready for release. The developer unveiled the debut trailer of the second episode, The Lost Lords, today. Here’s what gamers can expect, but if you haven’t completed Episode One you may not want to read any further:

To the far north, Gared Tuttle finds that the wall and its crows hold little love for a squire from the Wolfswood, but finds kinship in the bastard son of Ned Stark.

Meanwhile, an unexpected source of hope returns to the Forresters, but Ironrath is no place for the weak.

Game of Thrones: The Lost Lords will be available to download in two weeks. PC, PS3, and PS4 players will be able to play it on Tuesday, February 3 while Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will have to wait until Wednesday, February 4. All five platforms will receive The Lost Lords before Android and iOS owners, who will be able to download it on Thursday, February 5.

Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris, Suikoden II, Game of Thrones: Ep1 PS3, more added to PS Store

laracroftandthetempleofosiris

Some of the last major releases of 2014 are now available on the PlayStation Store, but a PSone-era re-release is stealing the spotlight away from them. Konami’s Suikoden II is one of the rarest games in the PSone’s entire library, with copies fetching more than $100 for resellers. But now the well-regarded RPG is available to anyone with a PS3 or Vita for $9.99. Maybe there’s something to be said for this digital future.

Also available this week is Square Enix’s isometric multiplayer puzzle platformer, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. The PS4 game is a sequel to 2010’s Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. And after launching for the PS4 last week, Telltale has released their first Game of Thrones adaptation, Game of Thrones: Iron From Ice, on the PS3.

More information on all of these games (and a few others) can be found after the break. And a complete rundown of this week’s new game add-ons and temporary discounts can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Game of Thrones: Iron From Ice launched yesterday… so here’s a launch trailer

Telltale Games is at it again. Just a week after the launch of the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands, they’ve outdone themselves and launched episode one of another series: Game of Thrones. If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll recognize some of the voices, like Lena Headey, Natalie Dormer, and, of course, Peter Dinklage.

Game of Thrones: Iron From Ice is now available on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It’ll be released for mobile devices and the PlayStation 3 soon.

Even the PlayStation Store slows down in December as Sony has added eight new titles to their digital storefront.

Leading the way is Ubisoft’s coast-to-coast racer, The Crew (PS4), which is available in both a standard edition and a “Gold Edition.” Also available this week is the first episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones (PS4) adaptation, Iron From Ice. Both games are joined by Secret Ponchos (PS4), Switchblade Monkeys’ Old West arena shooter (which is free for PlayStation Plus subscribers).

Game of Thrones: Iron From Ice is coming next week

We knew that the first episode from Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones adaptation was coming soon, but now we know that “soon” is actually next week. More specifically, Game of Thrones: Iron From Ice will be available on December 2 (PC, PS3, and PS4), December 3 (Xbox 360 and Xbox One), and December 4 depending upon your platform of choice:

While sooner is always better, I’m sure there was a very vocal contingent of people within Telltale who were tempted to launch the first episode on December 21 just so they could appropriate the “Winter Is Coming” tagline.

After you’re done groaning, you can also check out the game’s debut trailer, which has been embedded above.
