Xbox Store Today: Tom Clancy’s The Division, Powell Lacrosse 16, Teslagrad, more
Four new Xbox One games have been added to the Xbox Games Store as part of today’s update…
Black Friday gets a deadly new meaning in Tom Clancy’s The Division, which is now available to download through the Xbox Games Store today. In the game, a terrorist organization has somehow managed to unleash a smallpox outbreak by contaminating a batch of dollar bills on the busiest shopping day of the year. Players will join the titular government agency to track them down and restore order to the city. Ubisoft is planning to release a series of new content for The Division this year, and Xbox One owners will be able to play it a month earlier than everyone else.
The sport of lacrosse gets the video game treatment, possibly for the first time, in Powell Lacrosse 16. Casey Powell, one of the greatest lacrosse players of all time, lent his name to the game, which promises the “player movement and passing of basketball with the stick skills, shooting, and hitting of hockey.”
Also available this week is Teslagrad, a steampunk-inspired puzzle platformer where players will have to discover the secrets of Tesla Tower using their Teslamancer; and Tetraminos, a puzzle that looks a lot like Tetris.
More information on all of these games can be found after the break.
Xbox One Games
Tom Clancy’s The Division ($59.99)
New York City, today. An unprecedented pandemic has struck the city during the fever of Black Friday. One by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. You’re part of the Division, an autonomous unit of tactical agents trained to operate independently. Your mission: protect what remains and restore hope. Fight your way through a breath-taking urban jungle dragged into chaos. As a member of the Division, customize your Agent, loot and upgrade your equipment with state-of-the art technology. Take back New York City from hostile factions, alone or with your friends.
Powell Lacrosse 16 ($49.99)
Powell Lacrosse 16 combines the player movement and passing of basketball with the stick skills, shooting, and hitting of hockey to create a high scoring, action-packed game of lacrosse. Say goodbye to that “I can’t score” feeling of traditional sports games. Lacrosse averages 20+ goals per game. Line up the ball carrier for huge hits by perfectly timing up your attack. Imagine a football linebacker with a titanium shaft.
Teslagrad is a 2D puzzle platformer with action elements, where magnetism and other electromagnetic powers are the key to discovering the secrets kept in the long abandoned Tesla Tower. Gain new abilities to explore a non-linear world with more than 100 beautiful hand-drawn environments, in a steampunk-inspired vision of old Europe. You play as a young boy who suddenly finds himself embroiled in a long-forgotten conspiracy, involving the despotic king who has ruled the nation with an iron fist for several years. Jump into an outstanding adventure told through voiceless storytelling. Armed with ancient Teslamancer technology and your own ingenuity and creativity, your path lies through the decrepit Tesla Tower and beyond.
The classic arcade game is back in a supercharged version! For beginners or veterans, Tetraminos offers an easy-to-learn, limitless challenge. Give your brain a workout with the 50 Puzzle mode levels, survive as long as possible in Endless mode and rack up the combos and same-colour lines to climb to first place in the online ranking. Challenge your friends in local Versus mode with up to four players and sabotage their boards in wild games.
