Daily Scoop: October 8, 2013 – Get ready for t-shirts

Well, I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that I’ve got lots and lots of t-shirts to share with you! The bad news is that I have no deals to share with you. But on the other hand, that is probably good news, considering Beyond: Two Souls comes out today, and Pokemon X and Y come out on Saturday, so if you’re like me, you’re about to drop a bunch of money on those anyway.

Well, I’m not sure about Beyond, but I am really tempted to go get it… but the reviews are all over the place. But the demo was so fun. But money and time! So torn.

Anyway, here’s a pile of t-shirts for you! (more…)

Triad Wars revealed as new Sleeping Dogs game

sleepingdogs-bannerUnited Front Games announced today that they’re working with publisher Square Enix on a new game in the Sleeping Dogs universe. The two companies will be working together again to bring the world Triad Wars, which the publisher just filed a trademark for last week, according to Polygon.

UFG isn’t going to be sharing any information until 2014 (even what platform Triad Wars will be available for), but I am going to be super happy and freak out a little and maybe – just maybe – go replay Sleeping Dogs instead of picking up Saints Row IV or GTA V. It celebrated its first birthday not long ago – maybe Wei Shen needs to take some more ladies out on dates.

I am way too excited about this.

Daily Scoop: October 4, 2013 – Humble Weekly Bundle

It’s Friday, everyone! Which means the weekend is nearly upon us! And it also means that I really need to start getting serious about Halloween, because I still haven’t decided what I’m going to dress up as. How did it get to be October already? Yeesh!

Anyway, there’s a brand new Humble Weekly Bundle right now featuring Nordic Games. Pay what you want for Red Faction: Armageddon, Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, The Guild 2, and the Neighbors from Hell Compilation; pay more than the average for Painkiller: Hell & Damnation, ArcaniA, Darksiders II, and Spellforce 2: Faith in Destiny. It’s a great deal!

It’s a pretty quiet day today, even for t-shirts! I’ve only got one for you, but it’s a pretty good one. Hit the jump to check it out! (more…)

Daily Scoop: October 3, 2013 – XCOM Deals

Beyond: Two Souls Hands-On Preview: Into the Depths of the Supernatural

beyondtwosouls-header

Beyond: Two Souls is the latest game from French company Quantic Dream, the same team that brought us Indigo Prophecy (AKA Fahrenheit) and Heavy Rain. In Beyond, you play as Jodie, a woman who has had a supernatural entity attached to her since she was a child. The entity’s name is Aiden, and players can control Jodie or Aiden, depending on what the situation calls for. A new demo for the game has shown us that while Quantic Dream still relies heavily on QTEs (as they did in their previous games), they have done much to expand on – and improve – their unique style of gameplay.
