Battlefield 3 Premium Edition set for release in September
Well, my day just improved significantly: EA announced the Battlefield 3 Premium Edition. It comes with more than just the original game and all five expansion packs – it also includes the Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Head-Start Kit. This kit is designed just for people like me who are planning on coming to the party late: so we don’t get annihilated every time we hop into a multiplayer game, we get access to 15 different weapons, gadgets, and vehicle upgrades. For $69.99, you’ll get the works: more than 25 maps, 70 weapons and vehicles, and plenty of unlocks and upgrades.
Battlefield 3 Premium Edition will be out on September 11 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Check out the website for more details.

LittleBigPlanet creator announces Tearaway
Media Molecule is at it again! They’ve been working on an amazing PlayStation Vita game, Tearaway, in which you play as a character named Iota living in a whimsical paper world. He’s on a mission to deliver a special message to you, the player. In fact, his cute little head is an envelope! There’s a stamp and everything. Check out the announcement trailer above for all the cuteness, as well as MM’s uncanny ability to choose the perfect music for all of their videos, ever.
You’re basically a god to this paper world – you can “poke” your fingers up through the back of the Vita to fight enemies and solve puzzles. You can also blow into the microphone to cause gusts of wind, or shout into it to make Iota give a mighty roar. You can even take pictures of stuff in your real life environment to make skins for creatures in the game. Oh, and you can make that elk in real life, too. Just download this papercraft model!
For more information on this cute and quirky game, check out the PlayStation Blog, go to the game’s official site, and/or like it on Facebook.

The Last Guardian hasn’t been canceled, will still come to PS3
Worried about The Last Guardian never making it to your living room? Well, some good news has surfaced: it’s still coming to the PlayStation 3.
Eurogamer asked Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, about the status of the title during a Gamescom interview. “The team is still working on it very hard. There are certain technical issues they’ve been working on. That’s the period of time when the game, looking from the outside, doesn’t seem to be making much progress. But internally there is a lot of work going into creating the title,” he said.
The game, which was due out last year, seems to be riddled with problems and rumors, especially since Fumito Ueda left Sony Japan. The game has been absent from every major video game event for the last year, much to the disappointment – and wariness – of fans. But the problem, Yoshida said, is a technical one, and has nothing to do with redoing the game for PlayStation 4, or Ueda switching his role to a contractor.
“We had the game playable. At one point we felt that it would be produced for a certain time period. That was the time we prematurely talked about the launch window. But it turned out the technical issues are much harder to solve. So the engineering team had to go back and re-do some of the work they had done,” Yoshida said.
With the PlayStation 4 rumored to be coming out late next year, that gives The Last Guardian a window of a little over a year to come to the PlayStation 3. Perhaps Sony wants it to be the system’s swan song?

Daily Scoop: August 15, 2012 – Playkachu
Well, yesterday was a wonderful day! I got to play three board games I’d never played before last night – Race for the Galaxy, Blood Bowl Team Manager, and Heap. They were all pretty fun! I had a blast. My lovely boyfriend is taking me out to dinner sometime this week to celebrate our anniversary as well. I don’t mind celebrations that last a week long, for sure!
What’s up with deals today? Well, just one, and it’s really for those of you who have been waiting on a deal with the PlayStation Vita. It’s not a price drop on the Vita, but it’s enticing. It’s at Amazon, and it’s a deal to buy a PS Vita, get Mortal Kombat and a 4GB memory card free. Not too shabby! Though a price drop would be pretty nice…
Two t-shirts today, one that’s just ok and one I want to buy immediately! (more…)

Daily Scoop: August 14, 2012 – Nothing to see here, folks
Nothing. Nada. Zip. No deals, no t-shirts, no nothing today.
In fact, the only thing worth mentioning is that today is my anniversary with my amazing boyfriend, Anthony. He’s a wonderful boyfriend, my favorite person to game with, and my best friend. I’m a better person in part because of him. I never understand what people meant when they said “my better half” until now. He truly is my better half. I love you!

Daily Scoop: August 13, 2012 – Manic Monday
It’s Monday! And there are, sadly, no deals. I think that’s for the best, friends, because this month is so full of games anyway that you shouldn’t be blowing your cash on easy deals. I’m already twitching, trying to choose between Sleeping Dogs and The Last Story. The gaming gods are so cruel to us!
The good news is that there are two nifty gaming shirts today. Woo! (more…)

Daily Scoop: August 10, 2012 – Quiet Friday
It’s a super quiet day today – no deals, not much news, and not really any sunshine. Well, that’s not true – it keeps alternating between beautiful sunny day and straight pouring rain here in Philadelphia. That’s our bi-polar weather for you!
I was planning on playing some games today, but a doctor’s appointment and chores have got me bogged down. And now it’s time to do homework. It never ends…
Hey, but at least there’s a cool shirt for sale! (more…)

Daily Scoop: August 9, 2012 – Get those guides edition
Today is my Friday! Woohoo! Take that, Thursday. And to top it off, I’ve actually got a pretty decent deal to share with you!
The weekly ad at GameStop has some deals, including a deal to get a free guide with select games. The games are Dark Souls, Max Payne 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, and Soul Calibur V. That’s a great selection of games with free guides, especially Dark Souls. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to have your spirit completely crushed, I would say this is as good a time as any.
