Day 1 Digital PSN promotion announced by Sony

Sony is proud to announce that eight PS3 games will be added to the PlayStation Store in October day-and-date with their retail launch. Most of the games will also be available for pre-order, and PlayStation Plus subscribers who buy early will receive at least a 10% discount on those select titles.

The full Day 1 Digital lineup includes:

Resident Evil 6 ($59.99)
NBA 2K13 ($59.99/$53.99 for PS Plus members with pre-order)

October 9
Dishonored ($59.99/$53.99 for PS Plus members with pre-order)

Daily Scoop: September 25, 2012 – Video Game Gold Box Event!

The fall is really here. I mean really! I was freezing all day yesterday. Not that it’s difficult for me to be cold, but seriously! It was chilly. These aren’t complaints, by the way – I love autumn weather! I just want it to last a little while. I do love my Tokidoki winter coat, but I also love jackets, and sitting outside drinking hot chocolate, and that time just before you have to start wearing gloves. Also being able to have my windows open, and fireplaces. But most of all, I love it when you wake up on a nice crisp Sunday morning, early enough to make pancakes and pop in a great video game and play it for a few hours. I can’t drink coffee anymore, but I’m tempted to run my coffee machine just so my apartment smells like coffee. Coffee and Borderlands 2. Delicious.

Amazon is having one of their all-day Video Game Gold Box Events today! The main deal is Madden NFL 13 for $39.99. The hourly deals are:

  • 6AM PDT/9AM EDT: “Hold on to your controller and don’t get a black eye.” It’s the Black Eyed Peas Experience for $9.99!
  • 8AM PDT/11AM EDT: “Trick or Treat. Get this ghostly game a month before Halloween.” This one’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier for $30.99
  • 10AM PDT/1PM EDT: “Explore the streets on Hong Kong in this open world action game.” Sleeping Dogs for $34.99
  • 1PM PDT/4PM EDT: “Feel like you’re right in the game with each action you take using this PS3 accessory.” Could be the PlayStation Move Controller?
  • 4PM PDT/7PM EDT: “Advanced Bluetooth gaming headset for Playstation 3” Well, not much guesswork on that one!
  • 5PM PDT/8PM EDT: “LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes” They’re not even trying to make us guess now!
  • 8PM PDT/11PM EDT: “Immerse yourself in dynamic surround sound while enjoying crystal-clear communication on the PlayStation Network” hmm. Sony speakers?

Stan Lee DLC for Amazing Spider-Man now available for all

Activision has announced new DLC for The Amazing Spider-Man is now available, including the retailer-exclusive pre-order incentives “The Amazing Stan Lee” (shown in the trailer above) and the “Rhino Challenge Pack.”

And if you haven’t been caught in The Amazing Spider-Man’s web yet, Activision also announced the full game can now be downloaded from the PSN/XBLM for $59.99 and from Steam for $49.99.

Saints Row: The Third to give gamers “The Full Package” this November

If you missed out on Saints Row: The Third in the last year, have no fear, THQ is here. The publisher has announced “The Full Package,” a special edition of Saints Row: The Third that includes the original and all of the released downloadable content. That includes the three expansion packs (“Genkibowl VII,” “Gangstas In Space,” and “The Trouble With Clones”) and over 30 bonus items in four content packs (“Shark Attack Pack,” “Witches & Wieners Pack,” “Special Operations Pack,” and the “Genki Girl Vehicle Pack”).

“The fans have asked for it, and with the Full Package, we are happy to deliver,” said Kevin Kraff, Vice President, Global Brand Management for THQ. “With all the amazing and over-the-top DLC Volition created, the Full Package now stands as the definitive edition of Saints Row: The Third. For anyone that has yet to play this one-of-a-kind game, it’s time to strap it on.”

Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package will be available for $49.99 on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on November 6.

The Walking Dead: Complete Season coming to PS3, Xbox 360 in December

Telltale Games is hard at work on Episode 4 of their adventure game adaptation of The Walking Dead. But did you know the developer also plans to release a disc-based Complete Season package for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in December? Well, you do now.

Here’s the news, straight from Telltale’s Twitter:

As you can see, not only are they releasing it in December, but on December 4, to be exact. Apologies to our Eurofriends, but I’m sure Telltale will announce a release date for your side of the Atlantic soon.

Also here is a hands-on preview of this Fall’s Harry Potter For Kinect. I know that doesn’t seem like much to you, but your kids will love it.

New Releases: WoW Mists of Pandaria, FIFA Soccer 13, Dead or Alive 5, More

The Fall is here! The Fall is here! Say it with me… the Fall is here! Your Fall gaming rush begins now and it begins with the release of the latest expansion to the biggest MMO on the planet, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.

This week also marks the beginning of the annual soccer riot between EA Sports and Konami as both companies plan to release the latest iteration of their flagship soccer titles. FIFA Soccer 13 will appear on the 3DS, PC, PS3, PSP, Vita, Wii, and Xbox 360 while Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 go for the goal on the PS2, PS3, PSP, and Xbox 360.

A very different kind of kicking takes place in Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive 5. The latest game in the fighting franchise will punch and kick its way to the PS3 and Xbox 360 this week.

Finally this week, Rovio’s Angry Birds Trilogy flies onto the 3DS, PS3, and Xbox 360 and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is being re-released in a Game of the Year Edition.
