Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 announced
Fashion empress Emma Watson is proud to bring you the trailer above for the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (and no, it’s not the Mature-rated Harry Potter we’ve all been anticipating). We don’t have a release date yet, but it’ll likely ship alongside the movie’s theatrical opening in July.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is coming out for the Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The DS version will give you up to four person handheld multiplayer while the PlayStation 3 version will support PlayStation Move, for a little more immersion with your wand play.
Rumor: Rockstar on board with Wii 2?
The Wii 2 rumors are continuing to light up the internet. French site (and original rumor monger) 01net is now claiming that Rockstar is on board. The site’s sources claim that Rockstar Games was the first company to secure a developer unit for the next Nintendo console. 01net’s sources also state that the console, code named “Project Cafe,” is set for release in June of 2012.
To add to the craziness, Gamekyo has rumored that Grand Theft Auto V is set for a 2012 release. Coincidence? For the confused, GoNintendo fits the pieces together: “Rockstar has a dev kit […] working on GTA V (which is sure to hit PS3/360 as well) […] hoping to have it available at launch.”
Are you buying what 01net and GoNintendo are selling? We’ll have to wait for E3 to know for sure.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 may come 2014 at earliest
The rumors heating up for the Wii 2 aren’t necessarily shocking, as Nintendo remains the only console manufacturer without a High Definition presence. The onset of the next, true console generation? Now, that would really shake things up.
Kotaku claims to have talked to various insiders on the whisperings around Sony and Microsoft board rooms about when they’ll launch new consoles. Many sources are pointing towards 2014, claiming neither company wants to undermine profits by releasing a system that’s too expensive to make. Others hint at greedier reasons, claiming “both MS and Sony are telegraphing to each other that they’re delaying, to milk the current [generation].”
It’s been a while since I took Microeconomics, but I’m pretty sure that would be illegal.
The site also spoke to analysts Billy Pigeon, who believes Microsoft and Sony will probably wait to see how successful Nintendo’s incoming HD system does, and the infamous Michael Pachter, who attests that neither is ready for a new console cycle. Stephen Totilo of Kotaku attempted to agree with them, writing the sentence “it would also make likely that expected but unannounced games from other publishers, the next Grand Theft Auto, for example,” in an apparent lack of cohesion. Personally, I think this generation is just hitting its stride, and I’d at least like to see another Metal Gear Solid before the circle begins anew.
We’ll let you know if Kotaku hurls anymore accusations of criminal collusion at our favorite game companies.
MDK 2 priced and dated for WiiWare
A gem from the Interplay vaults and one of Bioware’s earlier works will be joining the WiiWare library soon. While the PC will be getting an HD version, MDK 2 has been remade for Nintendo’s console with a little motion control thrown in. It will land digitally on May 9 for 1000 Wii Points ($10). Play as Kurt Hectic, Dr. Hawkings, and their six-legged dog Max as they fight to save the universe.
You can watch a fantastic trailer for the game on its official page at Nintendo.com.
Atari announces Centipede: Infestation for the 3DS, Wii
These days, when someone mentions the arcade classic Centipede, more people are likely to cringe in horror, immediately thinking of The Human Centipede. Hopefully Atari’s recent announcement of the upcoming Centipede: Infestation will take the power back. Published by Atari and developed by WayForward, the 3DS and Wii game “is a post-apocalyptic action experience that features run-n-gun shooting style gameplay with tower defense-style objects, paying homage to the original Centipede while bringing the brand into the 21st century.” Hell yes! You play as orphaned teenager, Max, who meets up with another teenager named Maisy to try to save the world. This sounds like every teenager’s dream – saving the world from giant bugs while getting the girl.
There are killer centipedes – of course! – as well as tons of mutated bugs, including spiders, beetles, and grubs, all across 40 stages within seven environments. There are also loads of great weapons, including a Nuke Cannon and a Freezethrower. I wish I had some of these when fighting the bugs in my apartment! They’ve even got co-op multiplayer, as well as sharable content with StreetPass on the 3DS. Sound like your kind of game? It’ll scuttle up this fall, so be prepared.

Rumor: God of War IV scheduled for September 2012
Sony Santa Monica Studio has long said that God of War III would not be the end for Kratos. After making an appearance in the recently released Mortal Kombat, a PSM3 report (via CVG) makes the claim that the Ghost of Sparta will return in God of War IV, which they claim is on track for a September 2012 release:
PSM3 has heard from another source that God of War 4 is coming, and will hit in September 2012. Our source works closely with the God of War universe, and let slip he’d be working on a related project at the same time.
Hopefully we’ll find out more at E3.

Section 8: Prejudice, Fancy Pants Adventures added to XBLA today

Microsoft has added two new games to the Xbox Live Arcade on this fine XBLA Wednesday: Section 8: Prejudice and The Fancy Pants Adventures.
Section 8: Prejudice is a sequel to the well-received retail game Section 8. Developer TimeGate Studios shrunk its price down to $15 (1200 Microsoft Points) but has promised the game itself is just as big as ever.
Going in a completely opposite aesthetic direction, The Fancy Pants Adventures is a platformer that features stick figures.
More information on both games can be found after the break. (more…)

EA confirms original Alice included with Alice: Madness Returns
It looks like American McGee didn’t sneak a hit off the Caterpillar’s hookah when he told CVG that American McGee’s Alice would be included with PS3 and Xbox 360 copies of Alice: Madness Returns.
After initially issuing a “no comment,” Electronic Arts has confirmed the first Alice game will be included with Madness Returns as the company’s latest “Project Ten Dollar” bonus. The one-time-use Online Pass will unlock the game within the main menu of Madness Returns, which means it won’t be offered as a separate PSN/XBLA release.
However, those that purchase Alice: Madness Returns on the used market will be able to access Alice by obtaining an Online Pass through the PlayStation Store/Xbox Live Marketplace for $9.99 (or 800 Microsoft Points).
Alice: Madness Returns will be released on June 14.
