Tekken X Street Fighter STILL not canceled… but no progress update at Comic-Con 2014
After the announcement of Tekken 7, it would be easy to assume that Bandai Namco’s focus has drifted elsewhere, but the publisher reconfirmed to Siliconera that Tekken X Street Fighter hasn’t been canceled. Series Producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed that the game is still in development and “moving forward,” but that “it needs its own spotlight.” He also asked fans to relax.
While Harada has confirmed that the game is still in development, there hasn’t been much to excite fans over the years. First announced at Comic-Con 2010 (alongside Street Fighter X Tekken), the game is expected to be a 3D fighter that merges the Tekken and Street Fighter universes. A year later, Harada admitted that Bandai Namco hadn’t even started development yet. Last year, the producer said the game was so shrouded in secrecy that he couldn’t talk about it.
It exists, and that’s probably all we’re getting for now. If it’s still in development for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (or moved to the PS4/Xbox One) remains to be seen.

BioWare’s next game will bring a “Nightmare” to Gamescom 2014
BioWare is still being awfully cagey about what direction Mass Effect 4 will take, but the developer is ready to lift the lid on their next project, an untitled game that has something to do with dreams and nightmares.
A trailer for the game (titled “Nightmare”) teases a bigger reveal at this year’s Gamescom convention, but first we met a terrified young man that is in some horrible dream. It might be gibberish, but a dream analyst would look at the images we’re shown and conclude that a broken lamp symbolizes misfortune or bad luck while the alleyway represents a journey into the unknown. The smoky room implies confusion and anxiety while a doppelganger represents a desire to recapture the past. Finally, light means an understanding or clarity has been reached.
So some sort of misfortune has lead this man on a journey that is confusing. But something in his past will lead to a better understanding of the future and his current situation. The trailer closes by asking “What really happens when we sleep?”, and stating, “You’ve been chosen.” Chosen for what? I’m going to go with demons. It’s usually demons.

Daily Scoop: July 25, 2014 – Great t-shirt day
Last night’s game jam judging was amazing! We got to play so many terrific games, and lots of people loved our game, Party Pooper! We didn’t win anything, but I’m still pretty confident that our game rocks, and with more than two hours of work on it, I think it would go places. For right now, it’s going in the queue of “games we want to make.”
Let’s see, what game deals are out there today? At the Humble Store, you can pick up Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion on sale for just $9.99. You can also get Saturday Morning RPG for $2.99, Steal & Steam for $2.49, and Monster Loves You! for $4.99. Over at Steam, the Weekend Deal is Ace Combat Assault Horizon – Enhanced Edition for $4.99, and the Daily Deal is Broken Age for $12.49.
The best part of today is, by far, these t-shirts!

Press that recall button… the entire cast of Firefly will join Firefly Online
“When your miracle gets here, you just pound this button once, it’ll call back both shuttles.”
No power in the verse can stop them. Spark Plug Games and QMx, the developers behind Firefly Online, have confirmed that the entire cast will provide voicework for the game. Nathan Fillion (Captain Malcolm Reynolds), Alan Tudyk (Wash), Adam Baldwin (Jayne), Sean Maher (Simon Tam), and Ron Glass (Shepherd Book) have already recorded their parts. Morena Baccarin (Inara), Jewel Staite (Kayley), and Summer Glau (River Tam) have also signed up and will record their parts soon.
In addition to the crew of Serneity, Michael Fairman (Niska) will be on hand to add a devilish presence to the game. Finally, Kelly Hu (Lady Deathstrike from X2) and Michael Dorn (Worf!) will voice new characters created exclusively for the game.
All this extra voicework (and the character animation to go along with it) means that Firefly Online will miss its originally planned Summer 2014 launch. Instead, the game will now be available for the PC and mobile devices in Spring 2015.

New Releases: Wii Sports Club
You might have noticed a lack of new retail releases this week. And that’s because Nintendo decided to release Wii Sports Club today. Nintendo is notorious for releasing games outside of the traditional Tuesday morning slot, but they can get away with that, because they’re Nintendo. Wii Sports Club brings together all five Wii Sports titles while adding high definition graphics and opening up the competition to online multiplayer.

Sonic Boom Release Dates: 3DS on November 11, Wii U on November 18
Are you ready to lace up Sonic the Hedgehog’s red sneakers one more time?
Sega has announced that Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal will be released for the 3DS on November 11. It’ll be followed a week later by the release of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for the Wii U on November 18. Both games will be a riff on the same plot (an ancient monster named Lyric kidnaps Amy) and will serve as a prequel story to the upcoming Sonic Boom television series on Cartoon Network.
In addition to the release dates, you can head over to the Sega Blog to see the final box shots from both games.
