Halo 4: Majestic Map Pack Review: Close-Quarters Fun

The Halo 4 Majestic Map Pack marks the second batch of downloadable multiplayer maps, and it is clear that 343 Industries went with the “less is more” approach – believing less space leads to more intense, frenetic action. And wow, did it work like a charm. (more…)
Why You Shouldn’t Pre-Order A PS4… Yet

By now, you’ve probably seen Sony’s PlayStation 4 press conference, which took place a week and a half ago. You’ve seen the Twitter, Facebook, and forum posts all saying the same thing, “DAY ONE!” You’ve checked your budget and figured that by scrimping and saving you will be able to afford the PlayStation 4 when it launches. Now, all you need to do is pre-order your system.

The Games of March 2013

March comes in like a tomb raider and goes out like a songbird, wreaking havoc and destroying our free time and wallets along the way. There are so many amazing games coming out this month, but it seems that the Warp Zoned crew is only united on one front, and that’s BioShock: Infinite. What else do we plan on playing this month? Read on to see our Games of March! (more…)
Warpback: What We Played in February 2013

Come one, come all, come in out of the cold and see what the Warp Zoned staff played during the month of February. With PAX East less than three weeks away, we’re sure to get our hands on plenty of upcoming games, but read on for more games that took up our time last month after the break. (more…)
Writer Rumble Review: Let’s Get Ready to… Actually, No

Writer Rumble is the first game that GameFly, the video game version of Netflix, has produced. The premise of the game is very simple: choose a character and get ready to play Boggle (or Scramble With Friends) as a variety of monsters make their approach. Sticks and stones won’t break their bones, but words do have the power to destroy them. As you quickly search for words in the board area, keep an eye up top as well where the “action” is taking place, and make sure you’re keeping pace with all the ghouls headed your way. (more…)

Kickstart This! Don’t Throw Rogue System Omega With Your Enemy Golem Mind

Welcome to our monthly trek into the tumultuous world of crowdsourcing donations that is Kickstarter. As always, we have picked a handful of new gaming projects that we feel are worthy of your hard-earned cash. You could master how to manipulate the world with your brainwaves in Throw Trucks With Your Mind, or spread the bubonic plague in Death Inc. Perhaps you would rather fly trading missions through space in Rogue System, or play as an elemental wolf in Omega. If that does not whet your appetite, you could also play a mash-up of old games in Enemy, or delve into Jewish folklore to take on The Golem. (more…)
Halo 4: Spartan Ops Episode 9 Review: Back On (Treaded) Track

Halo 4 Spartan Ops has had its ups and downs, but here in the second half of Season 1, things have generally been on the upswing. Sure, Episode 8 felt a little like a step backward, but that’s only because it was preceded by the outstanding Episode 7. With Episode 9, it is clear 343 Industries is gearing up for the sprint to the finish. (more…)
