Obsidian wants to fund isometric RPG Project Eternity through Kickstarter
Obsidian Entertainment is at it again. The great minds who brought us Fallout and Fallout 2, as well as the Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale franchises and many, many others, are working on a new PC game tentatively titled Project Eternity.
The tease they posted as “Project X” a few days ago is now a Kickstarter project. As with many companies these days, Obsidian doesn’t want to compromise their dreams with a publisher, and is going right to the public. The Kickstarter page describes the scope of Project Eternity:
Project Eternity will take the central hero, memorable companions and the epic exploration of Baldur’s Gate, add in the fun, intense combat and dungeon diving of Icewind Dale, and tie it all together with the emotional writing and mature thematic exploration of Planescape: Torment.
Combat uses a tactical real-time with pause system – positioning your party and coordinating attacks and abilities is one of the keys to success. The world map is dotted with unique locations and wilderness ripe for exploration and questing. You’ll create your own character and collect companions along the way – taking him or her not just through this story, but, with your continued support, through future adventures. You will engage in dialogues that are deep, and offer many choices to determine the fate of you and your party. …and you’ll experience a story that explores mature themes and presents you with complex, difficult choices to shape how your story plays out.
Intrigued? Go fund them. Heck, if you’ve got a grand laying around, you can even help design the game, creating your own NPC.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 starts scoring on September 25

Get your studs on, because Konami’s FIFA rival Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 is coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on September 25th. The company hopes to hand players an unparalleled level of control over the on-pitch action, making sure every pass, tackle and shot is performed as the gamer intends. As well as the UEFA Champions League, which has appeared in past games, for the first time a Pro Evolution Soccer game will feature all twenty teams from Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.
As well as the teams, the players will be controlled by what Konami has dubbed ProActive AI, meaning players will not just look like their real-life counterparts, but also behave like them, from how they run and tackle, to which foot they favour when they shoot.

Borderlands 2 Mechromancer DLC coming October 16
The Borderlands 2 pre-order bonus news is finally official: you’ll be able to play as Gaige the Mechromancer, pictured above, starting October 16. The DLC will be free to those who pre-order the game at participating retailers (which, according to the Blands 2 website, seems to be just Amazon, Best Buy, or GameStop). For those who don’t have the Premiere Club Membership, the DLC will cost $9.99/800 MSP.
I am so excited for Borderlands 2 that I can’t stop playing the 16-bit demake. Also, have you seen the skill trees yet? How is it not September 18 already?!?!

Why Akaneiro: Demon Hunters, what a big trailer you have…
The first trailer for the Spicy Horse-developed A ctionRPG, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters, has hit the web, and boy is it a beauty. Continuing the theme of dark fairy tales set by Spicy Horse’s owner, American McGee, the game reworks the Red Riding Hood story, transporting it to feudal Japan. The main character, known as the Red Hunter, must protect their village from the Yokai, demons inspired by Japanese myth and folklore.
The free-to-play browser based game will allow you to grow and develop your own character, as well as offering a randomized item system meaning there is an endless variety of loot to collect, buy or trade.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron DLC trailer shows off Dinobots, Insecticons, G1 Optimus
Activision has released a new DLC-centric trailer for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and it’s filled with a ton of new bots now available for the game’s multiplayer (in fact, there’s so many bots, you just might plotz).
Terrible rhymes aside, how would you like to play as Zeta Prime, Wheeljack, Perceptor, Blast Off, and Ultra Magnus? With the Multiplayer Havoc Pack, you can. Or how about Grimlock, Swoop, Slag, and Snarl? With today’s release of the Dinobot Destructor Pack, you can.
A third DLC pack, the Massive Fury Pack, will be released on September 25 and include Hound, “G1 Retro” Optimus Prime, and the Insecticons (Sharpshot, Hardshell, and Kickback).
Roll out!

Daily Scoop: September 11, 2012 – Save your pennies
So, it’s Tuesday, and there’s really no deals. That is a good thing, though. Why, you ask? Well, because one sweet week from today, Borderlands 2 comes out. Why bother buying any games to clog up your backlog more when you’ve got a million hours you’re about to sink into Pandora? Seriously. Save your money for that and the book coming out the following week, Borderlands Unconquered.
There is one small exception, of course… today’s t-shirts. But first, this comic is pretty rad. And this one.
But yeah, shirts! (more…)
Bohemia “would be stupid” not to bring DayZ to consoles
DayZ‘s lead developer, Dean Hall, has already expressed his desire to bring the zombie sim to consoles. Now, ArmA II developer Bohemia Interactive is throwing their weight behind the idea as well.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Producer Jan Kunt confirmed that the company is definitely looking into it:
“Obviously [with] DayZ, you’ve seen the success of Minecraft on Xbox Live Arcade, and we’d probably be stupid not to try to do something similar. We’ve always wanted to make games for consoles as well.”
DayZ, the ArmA II mod, is available now with a standalone version planned for release later this year. The console version remains officially unannounced… for now.
Get an early look at the Skill Trees for Borderlands 2

With just a week to go, are you just itching to return to Pandora? Well, Gearbox wants to scratch your Borderlands 2 itch a might early as they’ve released the Skill Tress for Axton, Zero, Salvador, and Maya. Gaige the Mechromancer will have to wait.
To access the Skill Trees, head over to borderlands2.com/us/#characters and click on the character of your choice. Then head down to the bottom of the page and click on “View Skill Tree.” From there, you can distribute your Skill Points and see how your Commando, Assassin, Gunzerker, or Siren stacks up.
Borderlands 2 will be available for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on September 18.
