Mad Max WILL have an Australian accent in Mad Max game

A Mad Max game has been known to be in development for a few years now and it’s appearance at E3 2013 was a bit of a surprise, to say the least. But the announcement wasn’t half as shocking as the news that Max would speak with an American accent in the game.
After the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth on the Internet that this kind of thing produces, Avalanche’s Chief Creative Officer, Christofer Sundberg, has confirmed that Mad Max’s Aussie twang will be included in the game:
Attn. fans who want Max to have an Aussie accent in #MadMaxGame : It shall be so. We admire your loyalty. You have been heard.

Well that’s just ace, mate! The next tallie of amber fluid is on me!***
More Injustice: Gods Among Us DLC on the way; All previous DLC now available for Wii U
General Zod is now available to download in Injustice: Gods Among Us on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Marketplace… and the Wii U eShop. Yes, all four of the game’s downloadable characters (including Lobo, Batgirl, and Scorpion) are now available on the Wii U as well.
Like the previous characters, the good General has been priced at $4.99/400 Microsoft Points. A “History of General Zod” trailer can be found above. Zod marks the end of the first wave of DLC characters for Injustice, but according to NetherRealm’s Ed Boon, more characters are on the way:
RT @steven421 @noobde any new dlc character announcements soon? EB: YES!

I’m sure the first person to ask him about Martian Manhunter will get the kiss of death, Sonya-style.

TitanFall wins “Best of Show” at E3 2013 Game Critics Awards

Respawn’s TitanFall is a big winner in this year’s E3 2013 Game Critics Awards. The mech shooter, which will be available for the PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in Spring 2014, won all six awards it was nominated for, including the coveted “Best of Show” award.
TitanFall was the only game to win in multiple categories this year, but Watch Dogs (“Best Action/Adventure Game”), Tearaway (“Best Handheld/Mobile Game”), The Elder Scrolls Online (“Best Role Playing Game”), and a few others split the nine remaining awards. And a virtual high five to the developers at Supergiant Games for Transistor, which was selected as the “Best Downloadable Game.” We liked it quite a bit at PAX East 2013 too.
You can find the complete list of selections from this year’s Game Critics Awards after the break. (more…)

Here’s a new trailer for “Buried,” the latest addition to CoD: Black Ops II’s Zombies Mode
Vengeance, the latest DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, was released yesterday for the Xbox 360, bringing four new multiplayer maps, the Ray Gun Mark II, and “Buried,” a new chapter for Zombies Mode.
If you’re a PS3 or PC user you’ll have to wait to play the adventure, but in the meantime you can check out the new “Buried” trailer Treyarch just released. It’s full of dramatics, cinematics, and there’s some shooting, too. You can also catch a glimpse of the Ray Gun Mark II in all its zombie-bursting glory.

Gran Turismo 6 demo, MLB 13: The Show Home Run Derby, more added to PS Store
The 2013 All-Star Game will take place in two weeks, at beautiful Citi Field, and Sony wants to celebrate with a new PlayStation Store release: MLB 13: The Show – Home Run Derby. Sony has taken the popular mode out of the retail version and released it as a standalone PSN title with over 30 of the top hitters in baseball.
Also available this week for the PS3 is the Koei-published massive battler Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War and the bicycle simulation Tour De France 2013. Koei is also dropping a new game on the PS2 Classics section: Warriors Orochi. Over on the Vita side of things, three titles will vie for your download dollar: Farming Simulator, a farming simulator; Pinball Heroes Complete, a remake of the popular PSP pinball game; and Velocity Ultra, a puzzle shooter.
But the biggest addition to the PlayStation Store this week isn’t a full game, it’s a demo. In the Gran Turismo 6 “GT Academy 2013” demo players will be guided by GT Academy driver Lucas Ordonez around the famed Silverstone circuit well ahead of GT6’s holiday 2013 release date.
You can find more information on all of these games after the break and a full list of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

The Last of Us Review: Nobody Wants to Be Here and Nobody Wants to Leave

When Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was first unleashed upon the PlayStation 3, Naughty Dog managed to take the best aspects of the Tomb Raider formula and made it better by building on it with likable characters and Indiana Jones-esque hijinks. With The Last of Us, they have once again reinvigorated a flagging genre, the third-person survival shooter, by making it serious, personal, and scary.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days gets a release schedule and a launch trailer
During this year’s E3 Expo, Telltale Games revealed that a new downloadable expansion bridging The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: Season Two would be available this Summer. Little did we know that “this Summer” actually meant “early July.”
The Walking Dead: 400 Days will be available to download from the PlayStation Store for the PS3 today in North America. It will be followed by PC, Xbox 360, iOS, and Vita versions over the next week and into August:
- Tuesday, July 2 – PlayStation Store (North America)
- Wednesday, July 3 – PC/Mac (Steam, Telltale Games Store)
- Friday, July 5 – Xbox Live Arcade
- Wednesday, July 10 – PlayStation Store (Europe)
- Thursday, July 11 – iOS App Store
- August – PS Vita (The Walking Dead: Season One retail release)
Aside from the Vita version (which includes the entirety of Season One), 400 Days will be priced at $4.99/400 Microsoft Points on all platforms and will require a copy of The Walking Dead: Episode One. Also, be sure to check out the brand new launch trailer for The Walking Dead: 400 Days above.
TitanFall, Destiny, Watch Dogs lead all nominees in Best of E3 2013 awards
The 30 publications that form the Game Critics Awards judging panel have announced this year’s nominees for the Best of E3 2013. This year, Respawn’s TitanFall lead the way with six nominations. Bungie’s Destiny and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs were close behind with five nominations apiece.
All three games were selected to be part of the “Best in Show” alongside new hardware from Sony (the PlayStation 4) and Oculus VR (the Oculus Rift HD). That has to sting for Microsoft and the continued debacle that is their Xbox One announcement. Though the Xbox One did get a nod in the “Best Hardware” category. I have a feeling it’s not going to win.
A complete list of all the nominees can be found after the break. The winners will be announced on July 2. (more…)
