New Releases: Metro: Last Light, More
After a bit of a delay after original publisher THQ went bankrupt, Metro: Last Light is ready to be released in stores this week. New publisher Deep Silver is giving the Russian-set shooter the red carpet treatment and will release the game on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 this week.

Batgirl cripples The Joker in new Injustice: Gods Among Us trailer
The Killing Joke is one of the most famous Batman stories of all time. In the disturbing, The Joker believes that any sane man can become insane after one “very bad day.” To test this theory, he shoots and cripples Barbara Gordon, AKA Batgirl, in front of her father, Commissioner James Gordon. The Joker’s plan doesn’t quite work out as Barbara Gordon rechristens herself Oracle and becomes the supreme source of information for Gotham’s supers and she later regains the ability to walk and retakes the mantle of Batgirl.
All of which leads us to the brand new Batgirl trailer released today for Injustice: Gods Among Us. The world’s favorite librarian dons her batsuit and delivers a massive beatdown to The Joker (who’s wearing his Killing Joke costume).
Batgirl will be available on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace soon. A Killing Joke costume pack will also be available as a separate download. Wii U owners will be able to download the character this Summer.

Dead Space 3 Review: In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream in Frustration

Isaac Clarke just can’t seem to catch a break. He’s been to hell and back, and here he is again in Dead Space 3, being tasked once more with unfathomable responsibility. After all, who else can be trusted with saving the universe against the power of the Markers? Visceral Games has made some pretty serious changes this time around, most of them bad ones. Rumors have flown that there won’t be a Dead Space 4, and just yesterday, EA announced that Dead Space 3 didn’t sell enough copies to be considered “successful.” Keeping all of that in mind, are those rumors justified? (more…)
Sony will announce the next Gran Turismo game on May 15
Sony plans to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo with a special event at the Silverstone Race Circuit in England on May 15. “The event will be a celebration of all that Gran Turismo has come to represent to a community of millions all over the world” and Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi will make a special announcement about the future of the franchise.
Sony didn’t come right out and say they’re announcing Gran Turismo 6, but since we know it’s already in development, I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet.
The only question is… PS3 or PS4?

EA will release The Sims 4 in early 2014; 10 other titles planned for 2013/2014 release

EA announced earlier this week that The Sims 4 would be released sometime next year. Yesterday, company President Frank Gibeau confirmed that the next entry in the popular franchise will be available for the PC and Mac in early 2014.
The Sims 4 will be joined by ten other titles in EA’s “fiscal 2014” lineup. All of these games will be in stores before March 31, 2014, but most are already on the schedule for 2013:
- Fuse (May 28)
- NCAA Football 14 (July 9)
- Madden NFL 25 (August 27)
- NHL 14 (September 10)
- FIFA Soccer 14 (September)
- FIFA Manager 14 (October)
- Battlefield 4 (Fall)
They’ll be joined by the free-to-play Command & Conquer (which is expected to be released sometime in 2013), the next Need For Speed game (NFS games are typically released in the Fall), and NBA Live 14. Many of these titles were also confirmed for release on the PS4 and the Xbox 720/Durango during the same briefing.

Wolfenstein: The New Order goose steps into stores this Fall
Doom 4 is still in limbo and no one knows what’s going on with the Quake series, but id’s other big FPS franchise, Wolfenstein, will return this Fall in an all new game.
Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and “next-generation consoles.” The game is in development at Machine Games, a relatively new studio founded in 2009 by a few former members of Starbreeze Studios.
Wolfenstein: The New Order will be set in an alternate 1960 where the Nazis won World War II. Naturally, this doesn’t sit well with American war hero B.J. Blazkowicz and he sets off for Europe to take down the Third Reich’s war machine. And I mean that quite literally, the announcement trailer above shows Blazkowicz squaring off against a never-ending wave of goose stepping mechs.
“We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere,” said Jens Matthies, Creative Director at Machine Games. “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”
According to Bethesda, additional details about the game will be released in “a series of exclusive feature stories” on GameSpot.com beginning tomorrow.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist brings back Spies vs Mercs mode
Ubisoft has confirmed that Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist is bringing back the popular “Spies vs Mercenaries” multiplayer mode. To the dismay of many fans of the franchise, “Spies vs Mercs” skipped the last Splinter Cell game, Conviction. Here’s what Ubisoft had to say about the mode’s inclusion in Blacklist:
The stealthy and agile spies have to extract sensitive data from 3 terminals while the powerful and heavy armored Mercs must use any means necessary to stop them. Each team has different abilities and tools at their disposal to outsmart their opponents in an exciting, high stakes redefined multiplayer experience.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released for the PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 on August 20.
