Capcom will also release Monster Hunter: World for the PC and Xbox One
Capcom unveiled Monster Hunter: World during Sony’s E3 Press Conference last night. But this morning, the publisher confirmed the game will also be available for the PC and Xbox One.
Monster Hunter: World will include a familiar progression system built around acquiring skills and loot, along with the franchise’s “robust” crafting system. Players will also be able to jump online and battle the game’s huge beasts with up to three other players in cooperative play:
Monster Hunter: World delivers a seamless gameplay experience allowing players to move freely across map areas that comprise the living ecosystems and dynamically transition from day to night. The landscape and its diverse inhabitants play a critical role in each quest as players strategically use the surrounding environment including terrain, vegetation and wildlife to their advantage in battle or become hindered by the hazards they present. Hunters must use their cunning and abilities to track and maneuver their targets throughout the intense, evolving battles.
With flexible online multiplayer options and an accessible quest structure, players can tackle challenges alone or join up to three other hunters online for cooperative play. For the first time in the Monster Hunter series, players from Japan and the west can play together online, providing an expanded base of cooperative hunting companions. With the new online drop-in functionality, solo players can hail for assistance from the worldwide group during quests when their opponents are too daunting to take on single-handedly.
Monster Hunter: World will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One in Early 2018, though PS4 players will receive some additional (and exclusive) game content. A PC launch will follow at a later date.
NBA 2K17 simulation scores as Warriors win NBA Finals… but Predators trash NHL 17 prediction with loss
It didn’t take seven games, but NBA 2K17‘s playoff simulation became a reality last night, and the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Championship.
It was a high-scoring series, and the Warriors closed it out in Game 5 with a 129-120 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The two teams have been trading championships over the last three years, with the Warriors winning it all in 2015, and Cleveland claiming victory last year. The difference this time appeared to be Kevin Durant, who signed with the Warriors in the offseason. Durant averaged 35.2 points per game in the series, and was named the Finals MVP.
Elsewhere in the sports world, EA’s NHL 17 simulation didn’t work out as well. As predicted, the Nashville Predators reached the Stanley Cup Finals, but they lost the series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Both franchises will get another chance this September with the upcoming release of NBA 2K18 and NHL 18.
Sony at E3 2017: Spider-Man Gameplay Trailer and 2018 release date revealed
Sony closed out their 2017 E3 Press Conference with a brand new gameplay trailer for Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man game. The playthrough showed off some of the webhead’s signature moves, as well as using upgraded web shooters in both stealth and combat mode. The pace quickly shifted from slow and stealthy to action-packed fights, then to jaw-dropping setpieces as Spider-Man pursued an out-of-control helicopter. And true to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, the trailer featured a really cool stinger.
Marvel’s Spider-Man hits the PlayStation 4 in 2018.

Sony @ E3 2017: Marcus is the star of Detroit: Become Human’s latest Gameplay Trailer
During Sony’s E3 Press Conference, the publisher showed off a new trailer for Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human, which gave us a better idea of the game’s story. This trailer introduced audiences to another renegade android, Marcus, who becomes self-aware and leads a revolt with his fellow androids.
As shown in the trailer, Detroit: Become Human will feature drastic decisions with game-changing events. However, we still don’t know when the game is slated to hit the PS4, as no release date was announced.

Sony @ E3 2017: Skyrim VR and other new PlayStation VR games announced
Sony debuted a sizzle reel featuring upcoming games for the PlayStation VR at their E3 Press Conference, and there’s a lot to talk about. So let’s get to it!
The biggest announcement was definitely The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, which transports everyone’s favorite Bethesda game into glorious virtual reality. Skyrim VR will be released this November.
There’s also The Inpatient , a survival horror game from Supermassive that takes place in a mental asylum and serves as a prequel to Until Dawn. Supermassive is also working on Bravo Team, a Call of Duty-ish first-person shooter featuring nail-biting battles.
Other PlayStation VR titles on display included Star Child, a beautiful 2D sci-fi side-scroller, and Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV, an action-fishing game featuring characters from Square-Enix’s latest entry in the series.
Finally, Moss is a mystical adventure starring a tiny field mouse. It definitely has a very strong Secret of Nimh feel to it.
Release dates were hard to come by for the rest of these PlayStation VR titles, but stay tuned to Warp Zoned for all the latest news. And you can find trailers for each one after the break. (more…)

Sony @ E3 2017: New characters, trailers, and a demo for Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite
Capcom showed off yet two more trailers during Sony’s E3 Press Conference… both for Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite. The first trailer showed off a lot of the game’s story, and featured several new characters including Arthur from Ghosts ‘N Goblins, Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Gamora, Doctor Strange, Nova, Dante, Zero, Spencer, and my favorite Marvel villain, Thanos.
Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 19th, but you can download a demo of the game on the PlayStation Store (and Xbox Games Store) right now.
You can see all six new characters in action in a new gameplay trailer after the break. (more…)
Sony @ E3 2017: Shadow of the Colossus PS4 remake announced
Now this was a pleasant surprise!
Sony just announced a gorgeous remake of Shadow of the Colossus during their E3 Press Conference. One of the PS2’s greatest games (and one of my all-time favorites) is being remade from the ground up for the PS4, and will be released sometime in 2018.
