Ubisoft polishes up Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection in PS3-to-PS4 Comparison Trailer
Ubisoft will release Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection for the PS4 and Xbox One next week. Just like it says on the box, the compilation will include remastered re-releases of Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Over at the UbiBlog, developers from Virtuos discussed how they squeezed the “1080p resolution, improved draw distance, and a host of improved visual effects” out of the three games.
“The Assassins Creed franchise has always be known for stunning visuals and we’ve been very careful to keep the game feel authentic, just more beautiful,” said Xu Zhiyong, Lead Producer at Virtuos Studio. “For us, our work is all about dialing up the beauty and making a much loved world even more vivid, engaging, and immersive for the players.”
They also unveiled a brand new Comparison Trailer that puts the PS3 originals side-by-side with The Ezio Collection on the PS4. The results are pretty impressive.

Armed with the mark of the Outsider and powerful new supernatural abilities, hunt down your enemies and forever alter the fate of the Empire.
Dishonored 2 will be available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this Friday, November 11. But if you’ve pre-ordered it, you’ll be able to begin playing tomorrow, in addition to receiving a free digital download of Dishonored: Definitive Edition.

The Uncharted movie will start filming in late Spring/early Summer 2017
It’s been a long journey for the Uncharted movie, but director Shawn Levy recently told Collider that filming will begin on the cinematic adaptation next year in the late Spring or early Summer. During a special IMAX screening of Real Steel, Levy’s 2011 robot boxing movie that starred Hugh Jackman, the director laid out his vision for the Uncharted film:
I’ve been interested in this project for years. I’ve played and loved every iteration of the game. I think it’s largely a popularly accepted notion that it’s as cinematic a game as we’ve had, maybe ever, certainly of late. And it’s cinematic in that it’s not only wildly visual, but it’s really rooted in character and a very specific tone and a sense of fun, right? When is the last great, fun, fucking action-dynamic, treasure-hunting movie? Right? It’s not Indiana Jones, it’s not National Treasure; it’s very specific, it’s all kind of anchored in Nathan’s tone.
So I’ve been interested in it, and I’ve just been quietly letting people know I’ve been interested in it, but other people have been involved, I’ve been busy, and a moment finally appeared recently where I was like, “Me! Okay, me!” Sony and the producers involved were like, “Yeah, that actually makes perfect sense.” I’m like, “Yeah! That’s what I’ve been saying for a little while.”
I am unabashedly thrilled to be making that next year.
Levy’s lengthy talk also touched on Joe Carnahan’s script (the A-Team director is still working on it), Indiana Jones versus Nathan Drake (Drake is “much grittier, more naturalistic, real-world, contemporary”), and which actors might be up for the role of Drake (“It’s every actor who is ruggedly handsome, which is to say every movie star, and who looks anything like the square-jawed, chiseled-featured Drake”).
The entire article is worth a read, but Levy isn’t the first director to take a crack at an Uncharted adaptation. Development on the film began in early 2008 and passed through multiple directors and writers (including David O. Russell, Neil Burger, and Seth Gordon) before landing on Levy last month.

Both offer players the chance to explore uncharted territory, including a mysterious island in Robinson, and the sky itself in Eagle Flight.

Final mini-trailers for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard promise a new full trailer in early December

Capcom’s series of mini-trailers for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has come to an end with “Shadow” and “Aunt Rhody,” both of which are as mysterious as the preceding eight.
A fight with a creature that strongly resembles a Regenerator and an almost face-to-face meeting with the creepy Aunt Rhody eventually give way to a promise from Capcom that the third “Tape” trailer will be released in early December. Tape #1, “Desolation,” was our first look into the world of Resident Evil 7 back in June. While Tape #2, “The Bakers,” introduced us to a family of cannibals that might be scarier than Leatherface and his kinfolk.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 24. You can find the “Shadow” and “Aunt Rhody” mini-trailers after the break. (more…)
