Puff Daddy is curating WWE 2K17’s in-game soundtrack
Two years ago, John Cena and Wiz Khalifa teamed up to create the soundtrack for WWE 2K15. This year, 2K Games called up Sean Combs, better known to the public as “Puff Daddy,” to curate the in-game soundtrack for WWE 2K17.
“I am a huge WWE fan. I love the intensity and the competition and I wanted fans to feel that energy in the soundtrack for WWE 2K17,” said Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs. “While prepping for the upcoming Bad Boy 20-Year Family Reunion Tour, I’ve been thinking a lot about the past and the artists that inspired me. I mixed some of my favorites with some of the best new acts in the game today to create something really special.”
Combs selected 13 songs for the game’s soundtrack from “established and emerging artists” from the hip-hop, indie and alternative rock, heavy metal, and electronic dance worlds. Here’s the complete tracklist:
WWE 2K17 Soundtrack
- Action Bronson and Joey Bada$$ (Featuring Rico Love) – “What About The Rest Of Us”
- Anderson Paak – “Come Down”
- Andy Black – “We Don’t Have To Dance”
- Axwell Λ Ingrosso – “This Time”
- Black Sabbath – “Paranoid”
- Bring Me The Horizon – “Run”
- FIDLAR – “Drone”
- French Montana (Featuring Kojak Black) – “Lockjaw”
- Ishi (Featuring French Montana, Wale, and Raekwon) – “We Run”
- P. Diddy, Black Rob, and Mark Curry – “Bad Boy For Life”
- Travis Barker and Yelawolf – “Out of Control”
- Twenty One Pilots – “Ride”
- Yellow Claw (Featuring Lil Eddie) – “We Made It”
WWE 2K17, which will be released on October 11, is in development at Yuke’s and Visual Concepts for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
No Man’s Sky “Day One” patch will radically change the game and add multiple endings

Have you heard that several stores broke the street date for No Man’s Sky, and that a small handful of lucky gamers are playing the highly-anticipated space exploration sim right now? It’s true, but once No Man’s Sky officially launches on August 9, we’ll all be playing a very different game…
In a lengthy post on the game’s official website, Director Sean Murray has detailed the many changes that will be applied to the game as part of a “Day One” patch. Some of these changes include the creation of three distinct “Paths” where “early choices have significant impact on what you see later in the game,” advanced combat techniques, multiple endings, and much, much more:
- The Three Paths – there are now new, unique “paths” you can follow throughout the game. You must start the game on a fresh save, with the patch, as early choices have significant impact on what you see later in the game, and the overall experience.
- Combat – Auto Aim and weapon aim has been completely rewritten to feel more gentle in general, but stickier when you need it. Sentinels now alert each other, if they haven’t been dealt with quickly. Quad and Walker AI is now much more challenging, even I struggle with them without a powered up weapon.
- Space Combat – advanced techniques have been introduced, like brake drifting and critical hits. Bounty missions and larger battles now occur. Pirate frequency has been increased, as well as difficulty depending on your cargo.
- Writing – The Atlas path has been rewritten by James Swallow (writer on Deus Ex) and me. I think it speaks to the over-arching theme of player freedom more clearly now. Early mission text has been rewritten to allow for multiple endings.
According to Murray, this is just the first of several planned updates to the game. So, after several years in development, No Man’s Sky might be ready for release, but it’s far from finished.

Bethesda delivers another look at Prey at QuakeCon 2016
With no connection to the original game, or the previously-announced Prey 2, I’m still a bit baffled as to why Bethesda chose to resurrect the franchise’s name for the upcoming first-person game now known as Prey. But resurrect it they did, and the publisher even had a new gameplay trailer on display during this weekend’s QuakeCon convention.
Developed by Arkane Studios, the trailer reintroduced fans to Morgan Yu and gave them their first look at life aboard the Talos I space station. Those who made the trip to Dallas were also treated to an extended (and exclusive) gameplay demo that focused on the different types of aliens Morgan will encounter, as well as the extraterrestrial powers and weapons he’ll be able to wield.
Thankfully, Bethesda.net was able to get Co-Creative Director Raphael Colantonio and Lead Designer Ricardo Bare to open up a bit about what’s in store for players of Prey:
Typhon are roaming the halls of Talos I, hunting down the remaining humans. How you choose to deal with these creatures is up to you. You can take a stealthier route, finding secret paths around the station while using your tools and abilities to avoid confrontation. The station itself is a completely contiguous world. The entirety of Talos I is open to you immediately… provided you can find a way to get there.
Whatever path you forge, you’ll face different dangers at every turn. One of the keys to survival are the neuromods you’ll find scattered around the station, as they allow you to enhance yourself with alien-based powers.
Prey will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2017.

New Retail Releases: No Man’s Sky, OlliOlli Epic Combo Edition

Take me out
To the black tell ’em I ain’t coming back
Burn the land
And boil the sea
You can’t take the sky from me
No Man’s Sky isn’t a video game adaptation of Firefly, but the procedurally-generated space exploration sim from Hello Games will offer the same kind of sense of adventure as players venture out into the black and discover new worlds and alien life. With more than 18 quintillion planets to explore, players on the PC and PS4 will keep flying for a long time (that number has 15 zeroes, in case you were curious).
Also set to be released this week is the OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition for the PS4. The Epic Combo Edition will collect both of Roll7’s side-scrolling skateboarding sims (OlliOlli and OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood) in a single package, along with three “making-of” documnetaries and a downloadable soundtrack for the sequel.
That’s it for this week’s upcoming retail releases, but we’ll be back soon with a look at this week’s PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store, and Nintendo eShop updates.

Rockstar and 2K have a ton of games in the works that Take-Two still isn’t ready to talk about
Take-Two Interactive delivered their quarterly financial report to investors yesterday, and the company’s executives used their time in the Wall Street spotlight to also talk about a few games they’re not exactly ready to talk about yet.
Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two’s CEO, started off by saying, “Rockstar Games is also hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon.” Zelnick has made this same statement for several years now, so his definition of “soon” probably varies quite a bit from the Oxford English Dictionary. I suppose you can insert your own Red Dead Redemption 2 rumor right here.
Take-Two’s President, Karl Slatoff, also promised big things from Rockstar Games, along with Take-Two’s 2K label: “Looking beyond the current fiscal year, we have a robust long-term development pipeline across both of our labels, which features offerings from our renowned franchises, along with new intellectual properties that promise to further diversify our industry leading portfolio.”
During a previous quarterly financial report, Take-Two executives confirmed that their 2016 release calendar is set in stone, so it’ll likely be a while before we learn anything more about these future projects.
XCOM 2’s PS4 and Xbox One launch delayed to September 27

Take-Two Interactive has announced that XCOM 2‘s PS4 and Xbox One debut will be slightly delayed. Previously scheduled to launch on September 6, the game’s release date has now been pushed back there weeks to September 27.
The publisher also held their quarterly financial report today, and Karl Slatoff, Take-Two’s President, revealed that developer Firaxis initiated the delay to “ensure the game is fully polished at launch and meets the team’s high standards.”
XCOM 2 was originally released for the PC this past February.
PS2-On-PS4 re-release of Indigo Prophecy will be available to download on August 9

After a last-minute delay scuttled its planned July 18 launch, Quantic Dream has announced that Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy will be released for the PS4 on August 9. Like all PS2-On-PS4 re-releases, the game will include 1080p visuals and full Trophy support.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Quantic Dream’s Co-CEO, Guillaume De Fondaumiere, shared a bit about the game’s unlikely journey from an untested idea to a bona fide cult classic:
Indigo Prophecy was initially launched in 2005 in partnership with Atari. Looking back, I can say that our team’s serenity and faith in what we were creating was in direct opposition to the skepticism of a great number of people to whom we pitched the game.
This skepticism was so radical that we had to switch publishing partners during the last third of the game’s production. While we were showing off the beta version, a certain group of high-profile professionals even claimed that we would never be able to finish the game!
The reason for this skepticism was that we were creating something radically new, as we were attempting to resolve an equation that many thought was unsolvable: putting the story at the very core of an interactive experience and inventing gameplay that allowed players, through their actions and decisions, to change the way the story unfolds.
Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy was originally released in an “uncut” version internationally, and slightly edited for its North American release. It’s still currently unknown which version of the game will be added to the PlayStation Store next week.
