Vita Version of Jet Set Radio has been delayed

You may have noticed that yesterday’s PlayStation Store update featured a distinct lack of Jet Set Radio for the Vita.
The Dreamcast favorite was originally scheduled to be added to the PlayStation Store yesterday, but Sega decided to delay the game’s re-release on the handheld due to a need for “necessary development optimizations.” The publisher didn’t offer up an English translation of that bit of marketing speak or a new release date, but they did promise to announce one soon.
A release date, that is, not a translation of “necessary development optimizations.” Because I think that’s just gibberish.

CoD Black Ops Declassified to be released on November 13, includes CoD Roads to Victory
I think the entire world assumed that the Vita-exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified would launch in close proximity to Call of Duty: Black Ops II, but Dan Amrich, Activision’s Community Manager, has confirmed they’ll be available on the same day.
Amrich announced the November 13 release date on his blog, One of Swords. He also revealed that Declassified will come with a voucher for a downloadable copy of Call of Duty: Roads to Victory, a PSP-exclusive entry in the series that was released back in 2007.
For now, this offer will only apply to North American copies of Declassified. Amrich is hopeful the same voucher will be included with European copies of the game, but as of today, all bonus content for Europe is still being finalized.

PSN Today: 007 Legends, Doom 3 BFG Edition, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, more

Everyone’s favorite spy, James Bond, and everyone’s favorite space marine, uh… the Doomguy, recreate some of their classic adventures in this week’s PlayStation Store update.
Agent 007’s mission is to relive the last 50 years of the Bond film franchise in anticipation of the upcoming Skyfall. Taking missions from five previous Bond films (one each for every man who’s played Bond), 007 Legends promises to be the ultimate Bond history lesson.
Also available this week is Doom 3: BFG Edition, a compilation containing Doom, Doon II, Doom 3, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, and the brand new Doom 3: The Lost Mission expansion. Only Tom Cruise carries more “doom” around.
If you’re a PS Vita owner, you might be more interested in something completely new… like early access to the PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale beta (PS Plus subscribers with a PS3 can get in as well). Konami has also finally released the WayForward-developed Silent Hill: Book of Memories for the handheld.
Hit the jump for a look at the rest of this week’s new releases (including Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, and many more). And don’t forget to check out the PlayStation Blog for all of this week’s new game add-ons and PlayStation Plus bonuses. (more…)

New Releases: 007 Legends, Doom 3 BFG Edition, Dance Central 3, More

This week’s new releases are shaken, not stirred, and plenty scary. Don’t believe me, check ’em out…
Just like he likes his martinis, James Bond has been shaken out of his MGM bankruptcy-imposed slumber for 007 Legends on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Bringing together the plots of six different Bond movies (including next month’s Skyfall), the game promises to be an excellent history lesson on the last 50 years of Her Majesty’s greatest secret agent.
Also like Mr. Bond’s martinis, you’ll want to not stir, but shake it for Dance Central 3. The Xbox 360-exclusive is Harmonix’s third trip on the dance floor and this time they’re bringing “Ice Ice Baby.” It’s about time.
For scares, we’ve got a trio of choices this week: id’s reworked Doom 3: BFG Edition (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), Konami’s Vita-exclusive Silent Hill: Book of Memories, and Atari’s Roller Coaster Tycoon 3D (on the 3DS, naturally). Boo!
Skylanders Giants will also be available this week, but not on Tuesday. The toy-powered game will be released in both a Starter Pack and a Portal Owners Pack across the 3DS, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 on Sunday, October 21.
You can find more new releases after the break… and some of them even fit the theme. (more…)

Madden NFL 13, Borderlands 2 lead all September bestsellers

Boom! The annual juggernaut that is the Madden NFL Football has once again taken the top spot for September sales as Madden NFL 13 reigned supreme last month.
Gearbox’s Borderlands 2 followed close behind with strong sales of its own. In fact, they were so strong that the sequel managed to top the first month sales of the original Borderlands by 234%. That is just an insane number.
New releases controlled much of the top ten with FIFA Soccer 13 (#3), Guild Wars 2 (#5), NHL 13 (#6), and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (#7) also performing well.
The full top ten for September 2012 can be found after the break. (more…)

PSN Today: Dishonored, Retro City Rampage, Walking Dead Episode 4, more

It’s another massive day for the PlayStation Store as Sony has added 15 titles to their digital marketplace.
The highlight of this week’s crop is most certainly Dishonored, Bethesda’s Victorian-era steampunk stealth game. But a slew of interesting titles became available today including the top-down madness of Retro City Rampage, the violent toys of Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise and the lumbering undead of The Walking Dead: Episode 4 – Around Every Corner.
More information on all of this week’s new additions can be found after the break and (as always) the PlayStation Blog has a fine rundown of this week’s new game add-ons. (more…)

MLB 12: The Show gets price drop, predicts Orioles/Nationals World Series

Sony has slashed the price on MLB 12: The Show just in time for the playoffs. The PS3 version will now feature a $29.99 price while the Vita version is a steal worthy of Rickey Henderson at $19.99. And speaking of the playoffs, ESPN called up the popular sports series as well for an article simulating this year’s Divison Series and Championship Series matchups.
In the National League playoffs, the ESPN simulation expects the Cincinnati Reds to cruise to a 3-0 sweep over the San Francisco Giants while the Washington Nationals will win out over the St. Louis Cardinals in a 3-2 series victory. Things will go much easier for the Nationals in the NLCS as the team formerly known as the Montreal Expos will advance to their first World Series after a 4-0 sweep of the Reds.
Over in the Junior Circuit (the American League), the Detroit Tigers will take down the Oakland A’s with a 3-2 series victory. Meanwhile the New York Yankees [spit] will be beat by the Baltimore Orioles three games to one. The Orioles will continue their Cinderella run with a 4-0 sweep of the Tigers in the ALCS.
So… Nationals-Orioles… who ya got?
