The Last of Us Remastered, Rogue Legacy, R&C Collection Vita, more added to PS Store

One of the PS3’s greatest games is now available on the PS4 as Sony has added The Last of Us Remastered to the PlayStation Store in their latest weekly update. The Remastered edition of The Last of Us includes everything that made the original game great as well as both Map Packs (Abandoned Territories and Reclaimed Territories) and the Left Behind single-player expansion.
This week also marks the beginning of the PlayStation Store Play promotion and Cellar Door’s Rogue Legacy is the first game on the docket. Rogue Legacy is a platformer with roguelike elements (which the developer refers to as “rogue-lite”). The game is Cross-Play compatible (PS3, PS4, and Vita) and features a procedurally generated quest with “wicked sweet fart jokes.”
Speaking of the Vita, several new titles are now available for Sony’s handheld, but this week’s big new release is Ratchet & Clank Collection, a portable compilation of the duo’s first three PS2 adventures. If you’d prefer something a little newer, WB Games released Lego Ninjago: Nindroids, based on the brand-new television show, for the Vita yesterday.
You can find more on all of these titles (and a few other new releases) after the break. And for a full breakdown of this week’s new game add-ons, please head over to the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

New Releases: Last of Us Remastered, Lego Ninjago: Nindroids, Sacred 3 PC

Take heed fellow video game fans, the month of July is almost over! It’s been a rough few weeks for the retail release report, but 2014’s seventh month looks to go out with a bit of a bang. That’s because Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Remastered, a PS4 re-release of the 2013 blockbuster, will be available in stores this week. If you haven’t experienced the story of Joel, Ellie, and their fight to survive a post-apocalyptic America yet, now’s the time.
Also available this is the PC version of Sacred 3, the latest entry in the action RPG series that began in 2008. Sacred 3 will also be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in early August.
Finally this week, WB Games and TT Games will bring Lego Ninjago: Nindroids to the 3DS and Vita. The game sequel, which is based on the animated series Lego Ninja Rebooted, will add a sci-fi twist to the popular Lego line.
August will be better, I promise.

PS Store Today: Walking Dead S2 Ep4, Oddworld: New N Tasty, Entwined, more

Welcome to another PlayStation Store weekly update. This week, Telltale Games has released the fourth episode of their second Walking Dead adaptation, The Walking Dead Season 2: Amid the Ruins. It is available to download on the PS3 and the Vita starting today.
Also available today is Oddworld: New N Tasty, the PS4 remake of the PSone classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. The world is much more receptive to quirky platformers in 2014 than it was in 1997, so I predict big things for the return of Oddworld. The game is also in development for the PS3 (and the PC and the Xbox One and the Wii U), though no release date has been announced.
But speaking of multiplatform releases, a pair of games from this week’s update are available on both the PS3 and the Vita (though neither are Cross-Buy compatible). Entwined brings its bird/fish flying to the PS3 and the Vita after a successful PS4 launch during the E3 Expo and Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland is a remake of the 2010 PS3 RPG of the same name (sans the Plus).
More details about all of these titles (as well as a few others) can be found after the break. And a full rundown of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Store (don’t forget the PS Store Play pre-order promotion starts today too). (more…)
2014 PS Store Play promotion includes Rogue Legacy, The Swapper, Hohokum, CounterSpy
Sony has announced that their annual indie games promotion, PlayStation Store Play, will begin next week with the release of Rogue Legacy. It will be followed by three more releases throughout the month of August: The Swapper (August 5), Hohokum (August 12), and CounterSpy (August 19). Best of all, every PS Store Play title is Cross-Buy, so all four games will be playable on the PS3, PS4, and Vita.
As in years past, purchasing multiple games will net you a rebate from Sony. If you buy two PS Store Play titles, you’ll receive a code for a $3 credit in September. If you buy three titles, your credit will double to $6. And if you purchase all four games, you’ll receive a $10 credit.
One final announcement… if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can pre-order any of the PS Store Play titles at a 20% discount. So go play!

Mighty No. 9’s monthly trailer blitz includes a look at Call
Keiji Inafune and the development team at Comcept have gotten into the habit of unveiling a new trailer for Mighty No. 9 every month. For the July trailer, the team has given us a sneak peek at Mighty No. 9’s sidekick, Call. The developer has also shone a spotlight on the dash mechanic and the many transformations at Mighty No. 9’s disposal.
Mighty No. 9 will be released for the 3DS, PC (Windows, Mac, Linux), PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in Spring 2015.
June 2014 NPD: Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 are the top-selling titles once again

Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 once again reign supreme over the monthly sales chart as The NPD Group has confirmed the two titles were #1 and #2, respectively, in their June 2014 top-selling games report. The two games were part of a trend that included other May releases such as Minecraft (#3) and Wolfenstein: The New Order (#7).
The only June releases to crack the top ten were EA Sports UFC (#4) and Tomodachi Life (#9),
With Microsoft’s Kinect-less Xbox One hit store shelves in June, so the battle between the next-generation heated up just as the thermometer did. According to Joystiq, the PS4 once again topped the Xbox One, though all console sales more than doubled (a 106% increase, to be exact) the month of May. Ultimate, the entire industry saw a 24% increase in sales over the last month… and that includes a big jump in Wii U hardware sales too.
You can view the complete top ten chart for the month of June after the break. (more…)

Adam West will play himself in Lego Batman 3

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will launch Batman (and the rest of the Justice League) into outer space for an intergalactic adventure against Brainiac. And it looks like they’re bringing Adam West with them:
Holy LEGO mini figures, Batman. It's Adam West! #LEGOBatmanGame #SDCC pic.twitter.com/QuqybSJ46J
— LEGO Batman (@LEGOBatmanGame) July 15, 2014
The official Twitter account for the Lego Batman game series posted this image yesterday, confirming that West will actually be playing himself in the sequel. Let’s hope he feels the need to ask the Caped Crusader, “Why doesn’t Batman dance anymore?”
We’ll likely get a sneak peek of West’s contribution to the game during TT Games’ Lego Batman 3 panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (Sunday, July 27 at 1:00 PM). West will be a busy man during this year’s Comic-Con as he’ll also be promoting the upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of the 1960s Batman television series in a panel on Thursday, July 24. How does he do it? Pure… West…
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will be available for the 3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One this Fall.
