There’s “No Going Back” as The Walking Dead Season 2 ends next week
Telltale Games has announced that “No Going Back,” the final episode of The Walking Dead Season 2, will be available next week. But before you watch the trailer embedded above, you may want to heed the warning that came with it (all the bolding was done by Telltale to let you know they’re serious):
This trailer includes a special all-new scene just for the trailer and some MAJOR spoilers for previous episodes in the past two seasons, but contains no spoilers for the upcoming season finale.
Here’s the release schedule for the final episode of The Walking Dead Season 2. If you’ve been playing the game on an Android device, Telltale asks that you be patient as they’ll have an official release date for all Android devices, including tablets and micro-consoles, “as they become available.”
Tuesday, August 26:
PC/Mac via Steam, the Telltale Online Store, and other digital distribution services
PS3 and PS Vita via PlayStation Store in North AmericaWednesday, August 27
Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Marketplace
PS3 and PS Vita via PlayStation Store in North America in European territoriesThursday, August 28
iOS App Store
As always, “No Going Back” will be individually priced at $4.99 on each platform. It is also included as part of the Season Pass, which carries a $19.99 price tag.
Indie Megabooth lineup for PAX Prime 2014 announced
After a successful trip across the Atlantic, the Indie Megabooth is coming back to North America with a massive PAX Prime 2014 installation. But before I begin this news article, I’d like to congratulate Warp Zoned’s Nicole Kline and Anthony Amato, who will be sitting in with this iteration of the Indie Megabooth with their card game, Resistor.
But if you’re looking for some video games, there are plenty of great titles on display. All told, 78 games will be available within the confines of the Indie Megabooth… 58 featured games and 20 more as part of the Minibooth. Some of this year’s heavy hitters include a new game from Team Meat (A Voyeur For September), the next game from the Threes guys (Close Castles), the intriguing Oculus title Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and N++ (a game which needs no introduction). Over in the Minibooth, you’ll three of our favorites from PAX East 2014: Max Gentlemen, Catlateral Damage, and Tetropolis.
You want more? You can find the complete lineup after the break and more details on every game at the Indie Megabooth’s official website. (more…)

The Last of Us returns to the top of the best-seller list in July 2014 NPD report

In previous years, the best-sellers chart for the month of July would normally be dominated by the latest entry in the NCAA Football series. But EA Sports canceled the series last Fall, so a new emperor is sitting upon the July Throne in 2014. Or rather, an emperor we’ve seen before in a spiffy new set of clothes.
This is a roundabout way of saying that the Remastered re-release of Sony’s The Last of Us (combined with more sales on the PS3) pushed the game to the top of the best-sellers chart. July was a pretty sparse month as far as new releases go, but 505’s Sniper Elite III also cracked the top ten. It was number eight… with a bullet.
You can check out July’s complete top ten list (which includes May releases Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 hanging tough in the top five) after the break. (more…)

Akiba’s Trip, Hohokum, Risen 3, more added to PS Store

The real highlight of yesterday’s PlayStation Store update was the “interactive teaser” for PT, but a few interesting games are now available as well…
- Hohokum (PS3/PS4/Vita Cross-Buy) is this week’s PS Store Play selection and it asks players to guide a “curious kite” through a colorful world.
- Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed (PS3 and Vita) puts players in the middle of Tokyo’s “Electric Town” to battle semi-naked vampires.
- Surgeon Simulator: A&E Anniversary Edition (PS4) is a surgery simulation. Yay for accurate titles.
- Risen 3: Titan Lords (PS3) brings the popular RPG series back to its medieval roots.
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break. And, as always, a rundown of this week’s new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)
New Releases: Akiba’s Trip, Risen 3, Disgaea 4 Vita, More

If you haven’t been keeping up with its development, you might not be aware of how absolutely insane Akiba’s Trip: Undressed and Undead. XSEED will release the PS3 and Vita game this week and, if you don’t mind, I’m just going to quote from its official description: “The player’s goal is to identify vampires called ‘Synthesizers’ with the help of an in-game smartphone app, then engage them in battle to strip their clothes off so their bodies are fully exposed to sunlight.” Just… what? And by the way, this insanity all takes place in Akihabara, Tokyo’s “Electric Town” where all the otaku congregate.
Three other games will be released this week including…
- Risen 3: Titan Lords (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), which has dropped the pirate theme of Part 2 and returned to the medieval setting of the first Risen game.
- Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited, a Vita re-release of NIS America’s popular strategy RPG.
- A retail version of World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition, the online-only tank simulator.
Seriously though, Akiba’s Trip sounds BONKERS.
Second Gamescom 2014 teaser from Sony brings down the ax
Sony has unveiled a second Gamescom 2014 teaser and this time we’re treated to a bloody ax smashing into a stump followed by the same cracking ice from the first teaser. By focusing on one of Jason Voorhees’ favorite implements of destruction, it appears more and more likely that Sony is teasing the reintroduction of Until Dawn, a horror movie-themed adventure game first announced in 2012.
At the time, Until Dawn was expected to be released as a Move-exclusive PS3 title, but if Sony is teasing its return, are they also planning to shift it to the PS4? We won’t know for sure until Sony’s Gamescom presentation on August 11, but all signs point to yes.
Finally, you might also want to check out Sony’s psychedelic Gamescom trailer. It doesn’t tease any new surprises, but it’s fun to watch.

Sony is teasing a bloody snowflake for Gamescom 2014
Sony has released a ten-second trailer of a blood-covered snowflake falling toward the ground to promote an upcoming Gamescom 2014 announcment. Right now, this trailer is the entirety of Sony’s Gamescom 2014 tease, so who knows what they’re attempting to promote. But we can take a few guesses.
The consolemaker has several games in development that focus heavily on blood including Bloodborne, The Order: 1886, and the supposedly still-in-development Until Dawn. Is it teasing one of these titles? Or something else entirely? We’ll all find out together when Sony delivers their Gamescom 2014 keynote on Monday, August 11 at 1:00 PM (Eastern Time).

Killzone: Shadow Fall Intercept, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Swapper, more added to PS Store

Sony has dropped eight new games onto the PlayStation Store, so get for another punching, platforming, and shooting good time. This week’s big new releases include…
- Killzone: Shadow Fall Intercept (PS4), a standalone shooter based on the “Intercept” co-op mode from Killzone: Shadow Fall.
- Ultra Street Fighter IV (PS3), is the fourth (and presumably final) update for Street Fighter IV. It adds five new fighters to the game as well as a variety of balance tweaks.
- The Swapper (PS3/PS4/Vita Cross-Buy), is this week’s “PlayStation Store Play” selection and it tasks players with navigating a sci-fi world by cloning themselves into new locations.
- Metrico (Vita), is another puzzle platformer, but this one is set in a world of charts and graphs.
- Sacred 3 (PS3), the latest entry in the hack and slash franchise, which has shifted over to a new developer in Keen Games.
More information on all of these games can be found after the break and a full rundown of this week’s new game add-ons is available at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)
