PS4 version of Secret Ponchos will be released in December

secretponchos-header

We’ve been big fans of Secret Ponchos, an isometric arena shooter that takes place in a stylized Old West setting, since its PAX East 2013 debut. Ever since, we’ve been waiting for its release on the PS4 and PC but, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog, we won’t have to be waiting much longer.

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscribers, Secret Ponchos will be available in December as part of the Instant Game Collection on the PS4. All other PS4 owners will also be able to purchase it separately at that time. As one of the game’s banditos might say, yee haw!

Secret Ponchos is also currently available on the PC through Steam’s Early Access program. It’s possible the game’s “full version” will be released in December, but nothing has been officially announced by developer Switchblade Monkeys yet.

Daily Scoop: November 6, 2014 – Dreary day

Today has been so dreary – and the perfect sort of day to stay in, snuggled under some blankets, and play video games. I’m heading out into it tonight to go see Interstellar with some friends! I’m excited about the movie, but definitely not excited about the rain. Hopefully they balance each other out!

There are two brand new bundles today. Over at Indie Royale, there’s the Mixer 11 Bundle. Beat the average to get Trace Vector, Circuits, Little Racers Street, Derrick the Deathfin, Dungeon Lurk II – Leona, LightFish, World Truck Racing, and Zack Zero.

The Humble Weekly Bundle has rolled into a new set of games as well – this time, they’re all racing games! Pay what you want for Urban Trial Freestyle, Real World Racing Bundle, and WRC Powerslide. Beat the average to unlock Dirt Showdown and Joe Danger 2: the Movie. Pay $9 or more to unlock Dirt 3.

Over at Steam, it’s Lego Weekend, featuring loads of deals on Lego games! And their Daily Deal is Fuse which has been discounted down to just $25.

I only found two shirts today! Hit the jump to check them out.

3DS re-release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask announced by Nintendo

Nintendo has been toying with the idea of a 3DS re-release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask for quite a while now (at least as far back as 2011). But it looks like they’ve finally answered their fans’ pleas of “Hey! Listen!” and announced that The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D will be released exclusively for the 3DS in Spring 2015.

Majora’s Mask is a contentious entry in the Legend of Zelda canon as many fans hold it up as one of the franchise’s high points, while others think it’s a bit gimmicky and/or weird. But we’ll all get to re-experience it together next year with enhanced 3D graphics and “added features for a smoother game experience.”

You can check out the first trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D above.

Check out Hyrule Circuit, Mute City tracks from next week’s Mario Kart 8 Pack 1 DLC

The time is almost here. Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart 8‘s first downloadable expansion, The Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack, will be released next Thursday, November 13. The pack will be jam-packed with four new courses, four retro courses, three playable characters (Link, Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach), and four new vehicles (including Link’s excellent Master Cycle).

We know all along that one of the new courses would be Zelda-themed while another would take its cues from Nintendo other big racing franchise, F-Zero. But in this new trailer, Nintendo has given us our first look at the officially named Hyrule Circuit and Mute City. And they’re just as awe-inspiring as expected.

The Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack will be available for $7.99, but it can also be purchased as part of a season pass bundled with May 2015’s Animal Crossing X Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack for $11.99.

City of Alamogordo begins selling excavated E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial cartridges

etatarilandfillAs promised, the city of Alamogordo has begun selling some of the unearthed Atari 2600 cartridges found during this Spring’s landfill excavation. Nearly 100 titles are now up for bid on the city’s eBay page including E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Asteroids, Missile Command, Defender, and many others.

Bidding for all titles began at $50, but the price of the most sought after titles has quickly gone up. Unsurprisngly, the copies of E.T. are currently the most expensive games in Alamogordo’s auction with one copy garnering $520 in bids with eight days remaining (as of this writing). So if you want a piece of history, be prepared to empty out your piggy bank.

For those of you who’d rather experience the Alamogordo landfill excavation for a cheaper price, be sure to log in to Xbox Live on November 20 to stream a free download of Atari: Game Over, a Microsoft-produced documentary that explores the history of Atari and this Spring’s big dig.

Daily Scoop: November 5, 2014 – Quiet Wednesday

It’s a quiet, cloudy Wednesday here in Philadelphia, and I am eager to get home and play some video games tonight. I’m going to put a little more time into Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, and work on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel more, too. We’ve hit True Vault Hunter mode and respeced our characters, so we’re still getting the hang of them while taking on the story all over again. It’s actually been more fun the second time around!

There’s not too much going on sale-wise today. At the Humble Store, you can pick up Antichamber for $4.99 and pre-order Fotonica for $7.49. The Daily Deal at Steam is the Worms Collection, which is all the Worms games you can handle for just $17.99! They’re all on sale individually as well, so if you’re just missing one or two, you can pick them up on their own.

Just one shirt for you today!
