But wait, there’s more. There’s the unqiue puzzler Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (now available on the PS3 for the first time), Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (the definitive edition of the game), and many more. Now that DuckTales Remastered is available to download, it’s time to turn our attention to 2013’s other Disney remake: Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.
Sega has announced that Castle of Illusion will be released for the PlayStation Network on September 3. The game will be available to download from PC download services and the Xbox Live Arcade a day later, on September 4. All three versions will be priced at $14.99, but if you pre-order the game through the PSN, you’ll receive a free download of the original Genesis version of Castle of Illusion, an exclusive dynamic theme, and three avatars.
You can view a trio of new Castle of Illusion screenshots at the Sega Blog.
It’s a good time to be a fan of Disney side-scrollers from the late 80s/early 90s. Just a few weeks after Capcom announced DuckTales Remastered, Sega has confirmed that Castle of Illusion will be remade for the PC, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade this Summer.
“The original Castle of Illusion was tremendously entertaining and has a well-deserved reputation as a Sega classic. Castle of Illusion Featuring Mickey Mouse brings this great game to a new generation,” said Chris Olson, Vice President of Digital Business at Sega of America. “Mickey is back and he looks fantastic.”
If there’s any justice in the world, an Aladdin HD remake will be announced next…
