Yarn Yoshi is is back, and as adorable as ever, in Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World for the 3DS. Nintendo will re-release the side-scrolling platformer for the 3DS this week, and players can expect to find the complete Wii U experience along with new levels starring Yoshi’s pal Poochy.
Another re-release will also be available on store shelves this week as Square Enix will collect Hitman‘s “Complete First Season” in a retail package for the PS4 and Xbox One. In addition to all of Agent 47’s previously-released missions, Hitman: The Complete First Season will also include a trio of bonus missions and the Requiem Blood Money Pack, which includes “the signature Blood Money White Suit, White Rubber Duck, and Chrome ICA Pistol.”
Switching gears entirely, anime fans will find a pair of new games on stores including Digimon World: Next Order for the PS4 and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 – Road to Boruto for the PS4 and Xbox One.
Finally this week, 505 Games and Giant Squid will bring the oceanic exploration of Abzu to the PS4 and Xbox One. Originally released through the PlayStation Store and Xbox Games Store in August, this retail re-release will give the public a second chance to check it out.
That’s it for now, but we’ll be back later this week with a look at the latest digital releases on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store, and Nintendo eShop.
Square Enix will bundle the locations and episodic content from Hitman‘s first season onto a disc in a brand new retail release later this month. However, if you skipped Agent 47’s adventures in 2016, you might be unaware of some of the finer points of how to be an assassin. Thankfully, this “Hitman 101” gameplay trailer should provide you with the beginnings of a proper education.
The appropriately-named Hitman: The Complete First Season will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One on January 31.
Square Enix loves PAX West and the Japanese megapublisher will once again have a major presence at the Seattle-based convention.
The publisher’s booth will include a dozen demos, including some of this Fall’s biggest releases (Dragon Quest Builders, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, and World of Final Fantasy). Square Enix also plans to demo 2017’s biggest re-release, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age.
But if you want to get up close and personal with your favorite developers, a series of panels from the publisher will give you your chance. Friday will focus on Deus Ex Go and Final Fantasy XV, while Saturday’s presentations will dive deep into Final Fantasy XV, World of Final Fantasy, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
A complete look at all of Square Enix’s demos and panels can be found after the break. And don’t forget, the 2016 PAX West expo will kick off on Friday, September 2. (more…)
The Comic-Con booth has been broken down, so it’s on to the next Summer showcase for Square Enix. This morning, the publisher announced they’ll have 15 titles on display at this year’s Gamescom convention, which will kick off in Cologne, Germany on August 19.
Square Enix plans to have a massive presence on the show floor including multiple booths packed with more than 220 demo stations and totaling 1,100 square meters of space. These screens will be equipped with many of the company’s 2016 and 2017 offerings including Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dragon Quest Builders, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and World of Final Fantasy . A portion of the booth will also be devoted to “Square Enix Collective” titles, and another section will tout the publisher’s “new announcements and reveals.”
What are they announcing? We’ll have to wait until August to find out for sure, but for now, you can peruse Square Enix’s complete Gamescom lineup after the break. (more…)
Hitman Episode 3: Marrakesh will be available on May 31
IO Interactive’s episodic Hitman adventure will continue next week with a trip to Morocco. In Episode 3, Agent 47 will be heading to the mysterious city of Marrakesh in search of two new targets:
The mission, titled “A Gilded Cage,” enlists Agent 47 to take out two targets, private investment banker Claus Strandberg and Army General Reza Zaydan.
In a city teaming with life on the brink of a full-scale riot, these are the moments before a coup d’état, where the visible military presence exacerbates a situation where tensions are running high. Bustling Berber markets, alleyways crammed with stalls and shops, a clinical Swedish consulate and shaded rooftop terraces are just some of the areas that players can explore in Marrakesh.
IO is also planning more live content for Hitman, and the Marrakesh map will serve as the location for future Escalation Contracts and Elusive Targets. But for now, fans can scope out three screenshots from Hitman: Episode 3 at the game’s official website, alongside a few details about the episode’s new Challenges and Opportunities. As always, Episode 3 will be a free download for owners of Hitman’s Full Experience Pack, or it can be purchased individually for $10.
Agent 47 will star in three additional episodes of Hitman, which will all be released by the end of the year. The assassination will next travel to Thailand, before heading to the United States and Japan later in 2016.
Today’s Xbox Games Store update is making it a good time to be a fan of episodic gaming.
Players who wished for more entries in Sierra’s King’s Quest (Xbox One, Xbox 360) series will be able to continue the adventures of King Graham today in the third episode, Once Upon A Climb. A much bloodier type of adventure can be found in IO Interactive’s Hitman (Xbox One), but that’s not going to stop Agent 47 from meeting his target on the fictional Italian coastal town of Sapienza.
Also this week, Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Michonne (Xbox One, Xbox 360) will come to an end with the third episode, What We Deserve. “Michonne tries to protect an innocent family, but Norma and the vengeful Monroe crew are closing in,” reads the episode’s description. Sounds intense.
Elsewhere on the Xbox Games Store, annoying partygoers will meet their doom in Party Hard, a stealth game for the Xbox One where players permanently evict the worst noise polluters. And Elite Dangerous: Arena adds head-to-head dogfighting to the Elite: Dangerous universe as both a standalone expansion or a free add-on for the main game.
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break. (more…)
Sony’s Launch Party promotion reached the end with yesterday’s addition of Alienation to the PlayStation Store. Developed by marquee game developer Housemarque, the PS4 game is a twin-stick shooter where up to four players can try to save Earth from a huge alien invasion.
Also available to download today is Severed from DrinkBox Studios (quasi-related side note… Ecto Cooler is coming back). The Vita game makes extensive use of the handheld’s touchscreen and asks players to solve puzzles, find secrets, and do battle with a host of disturbing monsters. Speaking of disturbing monsters, annoying partygoers have sealed their fate in Party Hard, a stealth game for the PS4 where players permanently evict the worst noise polluters.
There’s also an episodic bounty of riches on the PlayStation Store this week as three titles received new entries. Episode 2 of Hitman (PS4) takes the story to the fictional Italian coastal island of Sapienza, while Sierra’s King’s Quest (PS3, PS4) reaches new heights in its third episode, Once Upon A Climb. And Telltale closes the book on The Walking Dead: Michonne (PS3, PS4) with the third, and final, episode: What We Deserve.
Sony just announced their PAX East 2016 lineup on the PlayStation Blog, and there are over 20 games on the list. Just think… you could be playing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End as soon as next week.
And that’s not all. PlayStation VR will also be at PAX East, and they’ll have 10 games available to try out. There will also be several PlayStation 4 games as part of the Indie Megabooth this year, including Metrico+, Moon Hunters, and Read Only Memories.
Hit the jump for the full list of games PlayStation will have in their booth at PAX East from April 22nd to April 24th. (more…)
