Star Wars: Battlefront will launch on November 17 as new images tease tomorrow’s trailer
EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront reveal will begin tomorrow at 1:30 PM (Eastern Time), but a sneak preview of the game’s official website has confirmed its November 17 release date. It’s since been deleted, but earlier today the site’s source code included a hidden bit of text that read: “The latest news and updates for Star Wars Battlefront. Available November 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.”
The site also includes a nice look at the Stormtrooper teaser image the publisher was slowly revealing through their Instagram account earlier this week.
Finally, a short teaser video for Star Wars: Battlefront was appended to the end of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer (pay attention to the leftmost box). It’s small and short, but it’s our first glimpse of the game in action.
If for some reason you have yet to watch the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer (you’re being held captive by a pasty dictator aboard his space station, for example), I’ve helpfully embedded it after the break. (more…)

Madden NFL 16 will be released on August 25
We don’t know who will grace Madden NFL 16‘s cover yet, but we do when it’ll be released. EA Sports has announced, via the publisher’s “The Beat” blog, that the game will be released in its typical end-of-Summer spot on August 25. No platforms were confirmed, but a PS4/Xbox One launch is a surety and a PS3/Xbox 360 release seems likely.
EA also promised that more information on Madden NFL 16 will be unveiled in May.

Daily Scoop: April 16, 2015 – Star Wars Day!
The new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out today, and everyone is feeling the hype – even the non-believers. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you’ll just have to see for yourself.
Let’s start off with the brand new Humble Weekly Bundle, shall we? This one’s called the Strategy 2 Bundle. Pay what you want for Frozen Synapse Prime, Shattered Planet, and Skulls of the Shogun. Beat the average for CastleStorm and Bloodsports.TV. Pay $12 or more to unlock Endless Space Emperor Edition. Not a bad haul!
The Weekend Deal at Steam is Far Cry 4. Get the game alone for $35.99, pick up the Gold Edition for $53.99, or get the Far Cry Franchise Pack for $47.22. Today’s Daily Deal is early access to Kenshi, which is just $11.99.
The Insulin Bundle is the latest over at Indie Royale. Beat the average to get Chronicles of a Dark Lord: Episode II, Goats on a Bridge, Crazy Cars – Hit the Road, On a Roll 3D, Coma: Mortuary, Hexcells Infinite, and one of my personal favorites: Coin Crypt, which was locally made right here in Philadelphia. Nintendo Download: Donkey Kong 64, Battleground Z, Ultimate Angler, more
Are you a fan of Nintendo’s StreetPass Mii Plaza on the 3DS? If so, you’ll definitely want to pay attention to today’s Nintendo Download because the publisher has added two brand new StreetPass Mii Plaza titles to the 3DS eShop.
StreetPass Mii Plaza: Battleground Z asks 3DS users to join up with their friends to battle the zombie menace by gathering weapons and taking the fight to the Zeds. Meanwhile, StreetPass Mii Plaza: Ultimate Angler is a relaxing fishing trip with friends at the StreetPass Islands. 3DS owners might also be interested in A-Train 3D: City Simulator, a train management sim from Natsume and Artdink.
Over on the Wii U eShop, Donkey Kong 64 becomes the second Nintendo 64 game available to download through the Virtual Console.
More information on all of these games (and a few new releases) can be found after the break. (more…)
Project CARS will launch on May 6 with support for 12K monitors
After several delays, Slightly Mad Studios and Bandai Namco have announced Project CARS will definitely be released this May. PC gamers will be able to download it through Steam on May 6. If you plan on picking it up for a console, be advised that PS4 and Xbox One owners will have to wait until May 12. Finally, Project CARS will be released (for all platforms) in European countries on May 7 and a day later, May 8, throughout the UK.
To celebrate the good news, Slightly Mad has put the pedal to the metal on a brand new trailer, which has been embedded above. They’ve also updated the game’s Official FAQ with confirmation that the PC release will support 12K monitor (a 11520×2160 resolution).
How ridiculous is that? Very, actually, because 12K display technology don’t yet exist. The resolution is currently only available by jury-rigging three 4K monitors together and powering it with a PC that has four GeForce Titan graphics cards stuffed into it. The future is now and Slightly Mad is in the driver’s seat.
On a lower resolution note, a Wii U edition of Project CARS remains in development and Slightly Mad still plans to release it sometime before the end of the year.
Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power will be available through Steam Early Access on April 21
Frozenbyte announced Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power just six weeks ago, but they assured fans they’ve been for “a long time.” Clearly, they were telling the truth as the developer just revealed that Trine 3 will be available through Steam Early Access on April 21.
Priced at $19.99, the full version should be released sometime this Summer:
Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief have slowly come to the conclusion that having their lives commandeered by a powerful magical artifact is not a desirable state of existence on a permanent basis.
The heroes try to return their extraordinary gifts to the Artifact called Trine, and so they meddle with powers beyond their understanding. Trine shatters. With a literally heartless ancient sorcerer on the loose, and only a broken artifact to guide them, the heroes must try and repair the damage they’ve caused… or the damage that might yet be done.
Frozenbyte plans to host a Trine 3 livestream on April 20 to get fans ready for the Early Access launch. Tune in to their Twitch Channel at Twitch.tv/FrozenbyteGames at 11:00 AM (Pacific Time) for an extended look at the newest game in the pioneering puzzle-platformer series.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ascendance Pack comes to PC, PS3, PS4 on April 30
Randall Higgins, KillCameraman, is back in a new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer that confirms the Ascendance Pack will be available for PC, PS3, and PS4 players on April 30. Like the previous DLC pack, the Ascendance Pack will include a new weapon (the OHM LMG/Shotgun), a new Exo Zombies episode (Infection), and four new multiplayer maps:
Perplex: Venture to the streets of Sydney and battle through a five-story modular apartment complex. With elevated vantages and tight corridors, Perplex is small-to-medium sized map that fits variety of play styles. Construction drones will shake things up, however, as they shift apartment modules and create new strategic pathways.
Site 244: An alien craft has crash-landed beneath Mt. Rushmore, USA, making for an awesome medium-to-large sized three-lane map littered with extraterrestrial debris. Gain a competitive edge by earning the map-based scorestreak to open an alien spore that enhances your perks and exo abilities.
Climate: Settle in to your dome away from home in Climate… a lush climate-controlled biodome. With a circular layout with a central island structure for teams to fight for control of, Climate keeps the pace of the action high. The tides can turn, however, when the rivers begin to rage and become a treacherous obstacle.
Chop Shop: Discover the seedy underbelly of the unauthorized exoekeleton trade in Chop Shop, a medium-sized industrial complex with a devastating map-based scorestreak: the Advanced Repulsion Turret.
As always, the Ascendance Pack will be available to download separately ($14.99) or as part of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Season Pass ($49.99).

First Tales of Zestiria English-language trailer points to a Fall 2015 release
Bandai Namco has released the first English-language trailer for Tales of Zestiria. In addition to introducing the world to the four main characters, we also now know the game will be released exclusively for the PS3 in Fall 2015.
The latest game in the long-running action RPG series will star Sorey, Alisha, Lailah, and Mikleo as they attempt to vanquish the “source of all malevolence” to help reunite humanity and the Seraphim. There’s also a magic sword and a Lady of the Lake and teenage angst… oh so much angst. But that’s to be expected when your game stars a headstrong youth (Sorey), his best friend (Mikleo), and a Princess (Alisha) who are on a quest to use Excalibur to kill Satan so angels can return to Earth.
In addition to the English-language vocals you can hear in the trailer embedded above, Tales of Zestiria will also offer an option to use the original Japanese language track with subtitles.
