Harmonix ending weekly Rock Band DLC releases on April 2
After a 275-week encore, Harmonix has announced that they will discontinue weekly DLC releases for Rock Band 3 on April 2. But don’t worry Rock Band fans, there will still be plenty of new songs released between now and then:
While there is no content currently scheduled beyond April 2nd, we still have DLC releases lined up for the next few weeks, including the remaining tracks from Rock Band Blitz, several Pro Guitar upgrades, and a handful of artists who have not yet appeared in Rock Band.
Since the first track packs were made available to download on November 20, 2007, Harmonix has released over 4,000 songs through the Rock Band Music Store. Without weekly DLC to keep them busy, the team at Harmonix has announced they’ll be moving on to the multiple new titles they have in development.

Activision: 2013 release date “should not be expected” for Bungie’s Destiny
The cat’s out of the bag. Bungie and Activision have given the world its first glimpse at Destiny. We all still have a lot of questions, but one of the biggest is definitely, “When can I play it?” Rumors abound that Destiny will be ready by the end of 2013, but Activision dashed those hopes with the game’s official press release, released this morning.
Activision reiterated that although Bungie’s amazing new world was revealed today, Activision has not included the launch in its 2013 outlook and there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result.
This kind of forceful language is atypical for a press release, so I think it’s time we start believing Activision. Destiny is a 2014 game. We’re all just going to have to live with that.

“It has begun!”
Machinima has released the first trailer for the long-awaited second season of Kevin Tancharoen’s Mortal Kombat: Legacy. The two-minute preview introduces us to many of this season’s characters including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Liu Kang, Ermac, Stryker, Kitana, Mileena, Kenshi, and many others. And it’s good to see Cary Tagawa again. The Mortal Kombat movie alum will reprise his role as the villainous Shang Tsung in Legacy and, even though it’s been almost 20 years, it looks like he hasn’t lost a step.
Season two of Mortal Kombat: Legacy is “Koming Soon,” but definitely not soon enough.

No, that’s not a typo. Welcome to the Weekly Warp-Up, your weekly wrap-up of the biggest and the best articles posted at Warp Zoned this week…
We’re fated to learn more about Bungie’s Destiny sometime today. And in just three short days, Sony will detail all of their PS4/Orbis plans (probably). But the week that was still held a few interesting tidbits.
For example, our Interview with Jamie Fristrom. Back when he worked at Treyarch, Fristrom created the webswinging mechanic for Spider-Man 2. Nowadays, he’s a one-man-band working on Energy Hook, an indie game that makes heavy use of a grapple gun.
And with the return of The Walking Dead to television, we also examined Five TV Shows That Should Be Games.

New Releases: Crysis 3, Metal Gear Rising
There’s just two new releases this week (though more to come thanks to the download services of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo), but they definitely both qualify as BIG new releases.
First up is Crytek’s futuristic first person shooter, Crysis 3. The initial print run is available in a special Hunter’s Edition for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Every person who purchases the Hunter’s Edition of Crysis 3 will also receive a coupon code for a free download of Crysis.
Platinum’s “lightning action” game, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is also ready for release this week. The swordfighting epic will be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360. A Limited Edition that includes a “high-frequency katana blade plasma lamp” will also be available.
Journey, The Walking Dead lead 2013 BAFTA nominations
Journey and The Walking Dead continue to rack up nominations in the remaining “Best Games of 2012” competitions.
This time, the two titles have dominated their peers during the nominations phase of the 2013 BAFTA Awards. “The British Oscars” have been handing out their Games Awards since 2003 and thegamecompany’s Journey leads the pack this year with nine nominations. Telltale’s The Walking Dead wasn’t far behind with seven nominations.
Both games are up for the coveted “Best Game” award, along with Dishonored, Far Cry 3, FIFA Soccer 13, and Mass Effect 3.
They might not have earned a spot in the “Best Game” category, but many of 2012’s other big hitters scored multiple nominations at the BAFTAs. Borderlands 2 received four nominations while Assassin’s Creed III and Call of Duty: Black Ops II both received three.

Darkstalkers Resurrection coming to PSN, XBLA on March 12/13
Capcom has announced that Darkstalkers Resurrection will be available to download from the PlayStation Network on March 12 and from the Xbox Live Arcade on March 13. The compilation will be priced at $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points).
Darkstalkers Resurrection will bestow a high definition makeover to the second and third games in the series, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3. Other features include online play, YouTube video uploads, a variety of graphical filters, and a Tutorial Mode.

Dollar Dash breaks into XBLA, PC on March 6
Kalypso Media has announced that Dollar Dash, a Bomberman-like bank heist game that features four criminals trying to steal all the loot, will be available for the Xbox Live Arcade and PC download services on March 6. Both versions of the game will be priced at $9.99 (or 800 Microsoft Points).
“Dollar Dash delivers simple yet addictive multiplayer mayhem that hardcore and casual gamers alike will enjoy,” said Jonathan Hales, the Managing Director at Kalypso Media Digital. “It is the perfect party game as players utilise a wide assortment of weapons and power-ups they have at their disposal to compete in exciting online multiplayer battles.”
A PlayStation Network version of Dollar Dash will be available at a later date.
