Daily Scoop: June 4, 2013 – Remember Me out today!
I’ve been reading a lot of buzz on the Internet, and I’m hoping that Remember Me is as good as everyone is saying it is. I’m not sure when I’ll get it – I’m hoping it goes on sale soon, because that’s when I want to play it – soon. In the meantime, I guess I’ll just have to settle for the giant pile of other games I’m working on right now. Boohoo.
So, what crazy deals are going on today? Well, GameStop had some crazy deal with Injustice: Gods Among Us (on sale for $9.99!), but it’s already over. Wah! Oh well. In other news, The Behemoth has a new store with some new stuff in it, which made me run screaming from the room, because I am not allowed to buy anymore of their stuff! NO! Bad Nicole!
There are a few great shirts for sale today! (more…)

Daily Scoop: June 3, 2013 – The Red Wedding
I’ve been waiting all season for the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones, and it didn’t disappoint. The best part has been the insane reactions of people around the Internet. The video reactions on You Tube might be the best, though the Twitter reactions had me crying laughing. What’s it like to have read the book vs. to just watch the show? It’s like this. Welcome to our club.
Anyway, let’s talk about video games! Amazon has some new deals up this week. Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Gears of War: Judgment are $39.99 each, while Fast & Furious: Showdown is $19.99. There are also lots of Trittons on sale at their deals page. Scoop ’em up!
There are two shirts I really want to get today, but after going through all my shirts this weekend and getting rid of over 100, I have banned myself from buying any new ones!

Daily Scoop: May 28, 2013 – Video Game Gold Box Event!
What a great extended weekend! Anthony and I played so much Borderlands 2 that I’m dreaming about being Krieg the Psycho. That might sound like a bad thing, but I haven’t had this much fun since the game first came out! It’s been such a blast. We also made a lot of progress on our big move! So close to being completely finished – just a few more big trips, and then it’s setting up time. Woo!
What better way to start off a short week than with an Amazon Gold Box Event full of nothing but video games? The main game on sale all day is Injustice: Gods Among Us. The PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 regular versions are $34.99, while the Collector’s Edition versions on PS3 and Xbox 360 are $64.99.
Here are the rest of the deals for today:
- 12:00AM PST/3:00AM EST: Dead Island Riptide – regular and special editions on sale for $31.99 and $59.99, respectively
- 6:00AM PST/9:00AM EST: AmazonBasics Carrying Case for Nintendo 3DS, DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL ($6.99) – just what it says!
- 9:00AM PST/12:00PM EST: Play Lara Croft´s latest adventure – this one’s got to be the new Tomb Raider
- 12:00PM PST/3:00PM EST: Turtle Beach Ear Force PX21 – another self-explanatory one!
- 2:00PM PST/5:00PM EST: Forza Horizon Limited Edition – they’re not even trying
- 4:00PM PST/7:00PM EST: AmazonBasics PlayStation 3 Wired USB Chat Headset
- 6:00PM/9:00PM EST: This ultimate collection has two best-selling Kinect games – most likely Kinect Sports: Season One and Two
What are you going to get from the sale?
Also up – lots and lots of great t-shirts! (more…)

TowerFall has an awesome new trailer, releasing for Ouya on June 25
I’ve been playing TowerFall whenever I can wrestle a controller from the other maniacs playing it at Cipher Prime’s Dev Night in Philadelphia. This amazing multiplayer versus game of strategic archery pits you against up to three of your friends in a ridiculous battle of wits, tactics, and twitch reflexes. It’s a beautiful, happy throwback to games like Super Smash Bros., reminiscent of simpler days screaming at your friends on the couch. Screaming in glee, I mean.
Check out the trailer, and pick up this game as soon as you possibly can. Seriously. TowerFall is worth every single penny – in fact, whatever you pay for it, you’ve ripped Matt Thorson off. The game will be out for Ouya on June 25, with other platforms to be announced. If you needed a reason to get an Ouya, consider this the best one so far. Check out the website for more details.
Daily Scoop: May 24, 2013 – So tired
What a week it’s been! So many crazy things have happened. I can’t wait to get home later, put on my pajamas, and play Borderlands 2 until I pass out. I’ve got a date with my boyfriend and our two Kriegs – Bebop and Rocksteady. And maybe some ice cream. Who knows! Let’s get crazy.
According to GameZone, you can get a copy of Tomb Raider for PC right now for just $13.60. Follow their directions and do it fast because it’s for today only. The only other deals going on today are over at the Irrational Games store, where a bunch of shirts are 50% off for their Memorial Day sale. Scoop ’em up!
Just one shirt today, kids! (more…)

Daily Scoop: May 23, 2013 – More Pokemon shirts
It’s almost impossible to get through a single refresh of my Twitter or Facebook feed without listening to people freaking out about the Xbox One reveal! I’m going to wait and see what Microsoft has to say at E3 before making any judgments about it. Here’s hoping they show some of those games they were talking about!
There are a bunch of new weekly deals at Amazon going on right now. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is $39.98, Diablo III is $34.99, Gears of War: Judgment is $39.99, the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Collector’s Edition is $34.99, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown is $29.99. Scoop ’em up!

Daily Scoop: May 22, 2013 – Triumphant return
Well, it’s been a crazy week, but things are finally slowing down! Saturday was GameLoop Philly, then Sunday was a surprise 80th birthday party for my grandmom, and Monday I was on a panel about video game writing with Chris Grant, Amanda Lange, and William Stallwood! It was amazing, but I am now amazingly tired. It’s time to get back to playing video games again! Oh, and moving into my new apartment, which feels like it’s taking an eternity. I can’t wait until it’s all finished!
Today’s deal is the new Humble Weekly Bundle, featuring Alan Wake. If you opt for the Collector’s Edition, you get extra content, including “special episodes ‘The Signal’ and ‘The Writer’ as well as developer commentary videos, an illustrated PDF book, and soundtrack.” These bundles only work on Windows, and you’ve only got seven days to buy it. Scoop it up!
Also, those awesome Penny Arcade Monaco prints are finally for sale! Go buy them all!
Lots of great t-shirts available today! (more…)

Daily Scoop: May 15, 2013 – Krieg the Psycho!
So Krieg is finally out! And we haven’t gotten a chance to play him yet! NOOOOOO!! And tonight we have free tickets for an early screening of the new Star Trek movie. So there are going to be some difficult decisions to make tonight… or maybe they won’t be so difficult. Anthony and I are planning on playing double Kriegs, so hopefully that’s either twice the fun, or twice the team kills!
Just one interesting deal today, and that’s over at Play Asia. Their daily deal right now is God of War: Ascension Steelbook Edition for $39.90. This is a pretty good deal, so if you’re into the series and just haven’t had the chance to pick this one up yet, at 50% off, this might be worth it.
There are some really good shirts available today! (more…)
