BioShock Infinite will receive an e-book prequel
BioShock Infinite‘s Columbia seems like a complex world, and fans of the series are clamoring for more information. Lucky for us, Irrational Games wants to feed that need, and has announced an e-book prequel called BioShock Infinite: Mind in Revolt, available on February 12.
The book, written by Joe Fielder (writer at Irrational Games) and Ken Levine (creative director) will be $2.99, unless you pre-ordered the game from Amazon, in which case you get it for free.
Fielder said, “Since we first announced BioShock Infinite, our fans have asked for more information about Columbia and the complex cast of characters that inhabit the floating city… After reading the e-book, players will have a better understanding of BioShock Infinite’s world, the struggle between its factions, and the motivations of key characters, like rebel leader Daisy Fitzroy, without spoiling the mysteries of BioShock Infinite.”
Hopefully since it’s done in-house, BioShock Infinite: Mind in Revolt will be better than that terrible book, BioShock: Rapture. They would have to really, really try.
Daily Scoop: January 25, 2013 – It’s Friday, I’m in love
As cheesy as it sounds, it’s true. It is Friday, and I am in love, so I think it’s OK to say it. I’m ready to get some gaming done this weekend, especially since the forecast calls for super snowy times! But it’s more likely that I’ve got a date with homework, as well as some extra credit. We’ll see if I can get in some more Dead Space 3 time while I’m at it!
No new deals today, though the sales at Amazon from yesterday and the day before are still going strong. Check ’em out, or save your pennies for the upcoming releases!
Two good shirts to share with you today: (more…)

I have lots of homework to do, but I’m hoping to get some gaming time in, especially if my super special edition of Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch comes by tomorrow. Come on, mail service! You can do it!

Not too much in the way of deals today. The Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for the PC is only $19.97 at GameStop right now. You could also surf Amazon’s clearance section, which includes gems like Airline Tycoon 2, Ben 10 Galactic Racing, and Mr. Bean’s Wacky World, all for under $10 each.

Capcom/Namco/Sega crossover Project X Zone coming to America
If you’re a big fan of Capcom, Namco Bandai, or Sega characters, then this announcement will please you. Capcom announced today on their blog that the Capcom/Namco/Sega crossover game, Project X Zone (working title), will be coming to the United States this Summer for the Nintendo 3DS.
This strategy RPG will feature over 50 playable characters you know and love from 29 franchises, including Darkstalkers, Mega Man, Shining Force, Street Fighter, Tekken, and many more. The game has been developed by Monolith Soft and Banpresto, and will feature a team system known as a Pair Unit, which can combine with a Solo Unit to make Solo Attacks in addition to the attacks of the Pair Unit. Other moves will include Cross Hits, Finishing Moves, Solo Attacks, and Support Attacks.
The crossover is explained in the story, in which a rift in time and space appears in the shadow world that lurks underneath everyday life. This rift opens a doorway to other universes, bringing in the heroes and villains from the different worlds.
Look for Project X Zone for your Nintendo 3DS this coming Summer. I can’t wait to see the kind of characters I can pair together, and what their epic moves will end up being.
