Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. day! I was hoping to spend the day quietly at home playing video games and eating bagel bites, but it looks like I’m going to spend it writing, cleaning, and doing homework. It’s not a very exciting day off, but at least I’m getting stuff done!
Today’s deal at Amazon is on Warner Bros. Lego games. Pick up Lego Batman games, Lego Harry Potter games, and Lego Battles for under $15, or the Lego Lord of the Rings games for under $30. Scoop ’em up!

If No More and Heroes and Killer 7 had a baby it would be Killer Is Dead
The latest from Suda 51 starts off sexy and ends with a lot of gore, which is no surprise. Killer Is Dead is a story about love and execution, if we’re to believe this over-the-top trailer narrated by the main character, executioner Mondo Zappa. Be sure to stick around until the end of the video to find out more about Zappa.

PS Store’s “13 For ’13” sale begins tomorrow
Sony is starting off 2013 with a bang by having a big digital sale right off the bat. Tomorrow starts their “13 for ’13” sale, which includes a lot of games I haven’t felt like paying full price for. The games will be 50% off for regular PSN users, and 75% off for PS Plus users.

Temple Run 2 downloaded 20 million times in first four days
Temple Run 2, sequel to Imangi Studios’ original Temple Run, was downloaded by quick fingers over 20 million times in just four days on the App Store. In that time, there have been over 210 million game sessions, which adds up to over 1,775 years of gameplay.
Holy. Crap.
It only took eight hours for the game to get to the #1 Free App, and right now, it’s the #3 Top Grossing App. How long will it take it to overcome the original, which has been downloaded over 170 million times across the App Store, Amazon Marketplace, and Google Play?
Temple Run 2 is currently available for free from the App Store on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. It’s due to come out on Android devices later this week.

Daily Scoop: January 18, 2013 – Wee Friday!
Not only is it Friday, it’s the Friday before a three-day weekend, making it the holiest of Fridays! I would love to play some games on Monday, but it looks like I’m going to have a pile of Responsible Things to do that day. Oh well, getting stuff done amirite? Go adulthood!
Amazon has some decent featured deals going on right now. Borderlands 2 is still going strong at $29.99, while Hitman: Absolution is currently $39.99, and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is $15.99. Scoop ’em up!

Crimson Shroud Review: A Different Take on the RPG

Crimson Shroud is a downloadable RPG from the 3DS eShop that was created by Yasumi Matsuno, a well-known Japanese designer who worked on Vagrant Story, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, and some Final Fantasy games (Final Fantasy XII being the most prevalent). He created Crimson Shroud with Level-5 as part of the collaborative project Guild01, bringing his experience and creativity into the story and gameplay. The game is a traditional RPG, but plays more like a Dungeons & Dragons-style tabletop game than a typical video game RPG. With an all-star helming the project in conjunction with a studio like Level-5, did the experimental game work? (more…)

Daily Scoop: January 16, 2013 – Yo Gamma Gamma!
Tonight, we’ll be playing Gamma World at Redcap’s Corner! I’m really excited to try it out. I’ve made characters before but never actually got to try out the system, which is a fast-paced 4th-edition-esque joyride through a post-apocalyptic world. We’ve rolled up 12 random characters for tonight, and my fingers are crossed for one in particular. If you’re interested, and live in the Philly area, feel free to stop by! We don’t bite. Well, maybe the Pathfinder guys do. But not us!
No deals today, I’m afraid! It’s been a pretty quiet week, unfortunately. But hey! Pandora’s Tower is coming to North America. That’s like a deal, right?
