Mortal Kombat X’s Tanya will be available to download in June

Everyone loves Mortal Kombat X. Fans seem to game’s new Story Mode, especially the mix of new characters and returning favorites. But there was always plans to expand the game in the future and after Jason’s impressive debut in early May, NetherRealm’s Ed Boon has confirmed a second downloadable character, Tanya, will be available in just a few weeks:
“@sub_zero_aj: @noobde can we get some news.on tanya ?? pic.twitter.com/kPCcOSwIKI
EB: She's koming soon,
In early June,
Or my name ain't Boon.
— Ed Boon (@noobde) May 24, 2015
NetherRealm plans to release two additional characters after Jason and Tanya, though it’s unknown if The Predator or Tremor will be next. All four characters can be purchased individually or as part of the Kombat Pass.
In the past, Boon has said that more characters (including Rain, Sindel, and Baraka) may be added to Mortal Kombat X further down the line. All three characters pop up to challenge players in Story Mode, but they’re currently unable to be selected in single-player or multiplayer.
See space battles, Lightsaber combat, pod racing in new Disney Infinity: Star Wars videos
All week long, Game Informer has been uploading gameplay videos highlighting a different facet of this Fall’s Disney Infinity: Star Wars. The most recent video, which has been embedded above, puts the spotlight on the game’s space battles, including the famous Battle of Yavin in and around the Death Star from the end of Star Wars.
An additional trailer features the game’s brand new Toy Box Speedway mode. This Mario Kart-inspired mode takes place on Tattooine, recreating the pod racing scene from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Escept this time the pod racers include Yoda and Question Boxes are all over the course.
The final trailer focuses on an elegant weapon for a more civilized age as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Luke Skywalker show off their Lightsaber skills.
Both of these trailers can be found after the break and don’t forget that Disney Infinity; Star Wars will launch sometime this Fall (possibly as early as August) for the PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. (more…)
Video Game Release Calendar Changelog: E3 2015 Table Setting Edition

Don’t Forget! This is just a changelog of recently announced release dates. Warp Zoned’s complete Video Game Release Calendar includes every title we could find with a 2015, 2016, 2017, or unannounced release date.
This edition of the Video Game Release Calendar Changelog is definitely focused on the pre-E3 table setting that happens every May. In addition to release dates for some of this Summer’s most-anticipated games (Lego Jurassic World on June 12, Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition on June 23, and Rory McIlroy PGA Tour on July 14) we were recently treated to release dates for some of this Falls big franchise titles (Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege on October 13, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate on October 23, WWE 2K16 on October 27, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III on November 6).
Looking beyond the big names, we now know that Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9 will be released on September 15 (though the 3DS and Vita versions will launch “sometime later”). But even the recent surprise announcements are focused on big names including Need For Speed and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, both of which will launch this Fall.
Finally, you can’t talk about release dates without mentioning a few delays. This time, Tom Clancy’s The Division was pushed back (to early 2016) alongside Mirror’s Edge 2 and the Ratchet & Clank remake (both will be available in Spring 2016). But Dead Island 2 got the worst delay of all, going from Spring 2015 all the way to TBA 2016.
But speaking of games that are far away, let’s end this roundup with Telltale’s Marvel Game, an untitled episodic adventure game that won’t be released until sometime in 2017. Hey, gotta get that announcement out there sometime.
Even more new release dates for this edition of the Video Game Release Calendar Changelog can be found after the break. (more…)
Samurai Warriors 4-II coming to PC, PS3, PS4, Vita on September 29
Koei Tecmo has announced they will release Samurai Warriors 4-II for the PC, PS3, PS4, and Vita on September 29.
Unlike the regional structure found in the original Samurai Warriors 4, this sequel/spinoff will focus on the individual heroes of the saga. In all, players will take control of 13 characters across the game’s 13 chapters including an all-new never-before-seen samurai. Other new features set to be added to Samurai Warriors 4-II include:
The game will feature many new and improved features as the battle, action, and character development systems have been revamped. It also introduces a highly challenging and richly rewarding mode called: the Endless Castle. Players can choose to enter and struggle to survive for as long as possible, or to play against the clock and see how far they can get up the castle’s increasingly difficult levels!
If you’re in London this weekend (May 22-24) for the MCM Comic-Con, a playable demo of Samurai Warriors 4-II will be available at Koei Tecmo’s booth.
Game of Thrones: Sons of Winter will be available next week
Telltale’s video game adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones continues with the release of the fourth episode, Sons of Winter, next week. Depending upon which platform they prefer, players will be able to dig into the latest episode on the following dates:
- Tuesday, May 26: PC (Windows, Mac) and PlayStation Network (PS3, PS4)
- Wednesday, May 27: Xbox Games Store (Xbox 360, Xbox One)
- Thursday, May 28: Mobile (iOS, Android)
So what sorts of intrigue and deception will the denizens of House Forrester experience in Sons of Winter? Here’s what Telltale had to say…
In Episode 4, the fate of the scattered Forresters hangs in the balance, and no one allied with the family is safe. An unexpected meeting offers Rodrik a new opportunity to free Ironrath from its Whitehill stranglehold, but with young Ryon Forrester still held prisoner, his next moves are critical. Gared must abandon Castle Black and venture beyond the Wall in search of the mysterious North Grove, risking encounters with Wildlings and worse. In King’s Landing, the population is reeling from a recent royal death, and Mira must step carefully in an increasingly complex game of politics where secrets are traded as currency. Far away in Essos, Asher infiltrates the slave city of Meereen at the behest of Daenerys Targaryen, but will the friendship he holds dear break under the strain of a mission that raises memories best forgotten?
Unlike the typical Telltale game series, their Game of Thrones adaptation will stretch out across six episodes. So be on the lookout for Episode 5 (A Nest of Vipers) and Episode 6 (The Ice Dragon) in the coming months.
Step into the safe of Boxman in this Evil Within: The Executioner gameplay trailer
Whether you call him The Keeper or Boxman, the hulking brute with the safe on his head will be the “hero” of The Evil Within‘s third, and final, downloadable expansion. The Evil Within: The Executioner will also shift things around in another memorable way as players will be forced to play the game from a first-person perspective.
Can you handle the terror? Load up the gameplay trailer embedded above to find out. And remember that The Executioner add-on will be available to download next Tuesday, May 26, for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Players who own The Evil Within’s Season Pass will get it for free while everyone else will have to pony up $4.99.
Great Scott! This new Lego Dimensions trailer stars Back to the Future’s Doc Brown
Don’t be a butthead, watch this new Lego Dimensions trailer right now! Christopher Lloyd, old Doc Brown himself, headlines the video as we get a closer look at some of the game’s Back to the Future-inspired locales. A few of Batman’s greatest foes also show up to cause some mayhem (Bane and Two-Face) and get some laughs (The Joker and Harley Quinn).
Will we need roads where we’re going? Doc Brown doesn’t know, but he does know that WB Games also announced the following minifigure expansions for Lego Dimensions, which will join the previously confirmed Portal 2, Simpsons, and Doctor Who sets:
- DC Comics Team Pack: The Joker and Harley Quinn
- DC Comics Fun Pack: Superman
- DC Comics Fun Pack: Aquaman
- DC Comics Fun Pack: Bane
- Back to the Future Fun Pack: Doc Brown
- Lego Ninjago Fun Pack: Sensei Wu
- Lego Ninjago Fun Pack: Lloyd
We don’t know exactly when each pack will make its way onto store shelves (as early as this Fall or as late as the first half of 2016), but we do that Lego Dimensions will be released for the PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on September 27.
Watch Kratos challenge Hades in this God of War III Remastered trailer
Are you ready to challenge the Pantheon once again? Sony is now taking pre-orders for God of War III Remastered, which will be released for the PS4 on July 14. According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, everyone who pre-orders the game will receive a code for a free Dynamic Theme: “Fall of Olympus.” But if you decide to bypass your favorite retailer and pre-order the game through the PlayStation Store, Sony will throw in a pair of 90-day PlayStation Now rentals for God of War and God of War II.
This is the first time Sony has offered a PlayStation Now rental as a pre-order incentive. Presumably, the streaming service will play a big role in promoting new titles if this offer is a success.
To get gamers even more excited for God of War III Remastered, Sony also released a new 1080p/60FPS trailer featuring the battle between Kratos and Hades. It’s been embedded above.
