Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege, Just Cause 3, GTA San Andreas, more added to PS Store
We’re getting closer to the end of the year, but there’s still plenty of life left in Sony’s weekly PlayStation Store updates.
Ubisoft leads off this week with the release of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege for the PS4. The counter-terrorism shooter is the first new entry in the series in seven years and promises a new 5v5 “Fortify Versus Defend” mechanic that focuses on environmental destruction (or protection if you’re the defending team).
Speaking of destruction, Just Cause 3 is also available for the PS4 from Square Enix and Avalanche Studios this week. Players will once again step into Rico Rodriguez’s wingsuit as he flings himself off cliffs in search of another dictator on another island paradise. And don’t forget your grapple gun!
Rockstar makes a surprise appearance on the PlayStation Store this week with a PS3 re-release for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This re-release is no doubt similar to the Xbox-to-Xbox 360 upgrade the game received last year.
Finally this week, The Legend of Kage is now available to download on the PS4 as part of the Arcade Archives series. Kage is one of the best side-scrollers from the 80s, so don’t let it sneak up on you!
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break. And a full rundown of this week’s new game add-ons and discounts can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

SteamWorld Heist will be released for 3DS on December 10; Other platforms to follow in 2016
Image & Form has announced that SteamWorld Heist, their turn-based space adventure starring sentient robots, will be released for the 3DS on December 10. SteamWorld Heist will be regularly priced at $19.99, but Image & Form is slashing the price by $3 (to $16.99) for its first three weeks of availability. The developer also revealed that a brand new trailer for the game will be available just ahead of the launch date, on December 8.
SteamWorld Heist will also be released for the PC, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, and mobile devices sometime in 2016.
This Mighty No. 9 “Features Trailer” is mighty retro
Because Mighty No. 9 is developer Keiji Inafune’s loving homage to the Mega Man series, it features many hallmarks of the wildly popular franchise. You want a side-scrolling platformer? You got it. You want a robotic main character who can absorb abilities from enemy robots? Yup, that’s here too. So it should come as no surprise that the announcer in this “Features Trailer” is bombastic and a little ridiculous… just like he would have been in the carefree 90s.
So learn a little more about Mighty No. 9’s Boss Rush Mode, Challenge Mode, Online Challenge Mode (Competitive and Co-Op), and One-Hit Death Maniac Mode, and get yourself ready for the game’s release on February 9, 2016.
Black Friday 2015 Video Game Deals at Amazon continue into Saturday
Amazon’s Black Friday Sale has come to an end, so naturally its time for the retailer to launch their Black Friday Weekend Sale (and prepare for the inevitable Cyber Monday Sale). If you’ve still got some shopping in you, there’s a few good deals to be had including discounts on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Until Dawn, and a ton of Skylanders SuperChargers toys.
These deals will go live throughout the day and we’ve got the complete schedule available after the break. And don’t forget to check out Amazon’s main Black Friday Week Deals page for discounts on even more titles. (more…)
Black Friday 2015 Video Game Deals: PlayStation Store
Black Friday is here, is your wish list (and your wallet) ready? Here’s what you can expect to find at the PlayStation Store today…
Black Friday is actually almost over, but there are still plenty of deals to be had from the comfort of your couch on the PlayStation Store. More than 100 PS4, PS3, and Vita games will be discounted all weekend long including Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, Batman: Arkham Knight, Destiny: The Taken King, Grand Theft Auto V, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and many others. A not-so-secret coupon code (FH24P5BDR6) will also net you an additional 10% off your total purchase. But this code can only be used once per account, so be sure you’ve got everything you want in your cart before you activate it.
Sony’s Black Friday Deals will come to an end on Monday, November 30 and you can find them all after the break. (more…)
Beyond: Two Souls, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 3, more added to PS Store
Sony is in a giving mood for this week’s PlayStation Store update. The consolemaker has heavily discounted dozens of games for Black Friday weekend (though they never use the words “Black Friday Sale”), as well as launching two new PS4 titles.
Beyond: Two Souls is a PS4 remake of Quantic Dream’s supernatural adventure story starring Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. In addition to improved visuals, Quantic Dream has added increased difficulty, improved controls, and a special “chronological order” mode to the game.
Also available this week is The Old Hunters, the massive new expansion to From Software’s Bloodborne. Players will descend into “Byrgenwerth’s deepest, darkest secrets” as they “explore brand new stages full of dangers, rewards, and deadly beasts to hunt.” Sounds like a good time will be had by all.
Finally this week, Telltale Games has reached the halfway point with Minecraft: Story Mode. Episode 3 will be known as The Last Place You Look, and it’s a rather fitting title as Jesse are on the lookout for Soren, the final member of the Order of the Stone. I wonder if he’s hiding out to browse the PlayStation Store sale in peace.
More information on all of these games (and a few other new releases) can be found after the break. A complete list of this week’s discounts and new game add-ons can be found at the PlayStation Blog. (more…)

Vblank announces Shakedown Hawaii, a 16-bit sequel to Retro City Rampage
Two weeks ahead of this year’s PlayStation Experience, Vblank Entertainment has announced Shakedown Hawaii, a sequel to Retro City Rampage. Set to be released for the PS4 and Vita sometime in the “to be announced” future, the game will be playable on the show floor at Sony’s big showcase. Developer Brian Provinciano teased a tiny bit about Shakedown Hawaii, which will have a 16-bit art style, on the PlayStation Blog:
Shakedown Hawaii brings the Vblank open world universe into the 16-bit era, powered up with destructible environments and an arsenal of supercharged weapons. Taking place some thirty years after the events of Retro City Rampage, the game follows The Player as he comes out of early retirement to rebuild his neglected corporate empire.
The footer of the official Shakedown Hawaii website confirms that the game will also be available for the PC (via Steam) and at least one unnamed Nintendo platform.
