Capcom @ E3 14: Phoenix Wright Trilogy, Dead Rising 3 PC, Monster Hunter 4, and plenty more
Capcom announced its awesome lineup for E3 2014, and the list is pretty awesome. They’ll have Dead Rising 3 for PC; Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on iOS; Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy for the 3DS; Ultra Street Fighter IV for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360; and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the 3DS. You can probably tell what I’m most excited for by which image I chose!
Capcom will also be showing off Capcom Pro Tour, which is referred to as “the premier league destination for competitive fighting games.” The yearlong tournament circuit will lead up to the Capcom Cup, which will have 16 players facing off against one another.

Fantasia: Music Evolved will begin making beautiful music on store shelves on October 21
A few years ago, Harmonix put the Rock Band franchise on a bit of a temporary hiatus. Since then, they’ve driven headfirst into development on a ton of new projects including the musical FPS Chroma and an HD reboot/remake of Amplitude. The developer is also rumored to be working on an unannounced Dance Central game for the Xbox One… which will probably become reality in a few hours. But the one we’ll get to play first is Fantasia: Music Evolved.
Based on the Disney films of the same name, Fantasia: Music Evolved will be released for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on October 21. To get in the spirit of the season, Harmonix has released an E3 trailer for Music Evolved, which showcases a new take on their unique brand of music-based gaming. The trailer also gives us our first look at one of the game’s realms, “The Neighborhood.”
You can learn more about “The Neighborhood” and a new character known as Scout (Yen Sid’s former apprentice) by marching a bunch of chairs over to Disney Interactive’s official website.

Battlefield Hardline will be available October 21… see the E3 teaser trailer now
EA just can’t keep Battlefield Hardline a secret. Their original plan was to reveal Visceral Games’ cops-and-robbers crime drama during their E3 Press Conference, which is scheduled to be held today. Instead, the existence of the game leaked a bit early. And now, the E3 trailer is out in the wild ahead of their press conference too. But rather than run from the rumors, EA officially released the trailer themselves, confirming Hardline’s October 21 release date in the process.
We’ll hear more about Battlefield Hardline, which is believed to be in development for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, later today.
New Releases: Enemy Front, How to Train Your Dragon 2
Like parents grounding a disobedient child, game publishers have told their new releases that they’re not allowed to leave the house while this E3 thing is going on. But a resourceful teenager will always find a way to escape into the great wide world. And this metaphor kind of falls apart when you realize I’m talking about a budget FPS set during World War II (yes, they still make those) and a movie tie-in game.
Developed by CI Games and co-published by Bandai Namco, Enemy Front is a first person shooter set during World War II that will available this week for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Although it is interesting that the main character (and thus, the main Nazi killer) is a reporter. B.J. Blazkowicz he ain’t.
This week’s other new release is How to Train Your Dragon 2, a game tie-in based on the DreamWorks film of the same name. It’ll be released for the 3DS, PS3, Wii (really), Wii U, and Xbox 360.
Your Madden NFL 15 cover athlete is… Richard Sherman
Maybe it was just me, but it feels like EA Sports and ESPN didn’t care about the Madden NFL 15 Cover Vote at all. After exhausting themselves counting 40 million votes last year in a massive 64-man tournament, this year’s tournament featured a simple 16-man competition. The public agreed with EA’s assessment and only cast nine million votes, less than 25% of last year’s total, over the course of this year’s contest. But now that all the votes have been tallied, EA Sports is ready to announce that the Madden NFL 15 cover athlete is… Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks.
Sherman becomes only the third defensive player to grace the cover of a Madden NFL game and only the second to do so solo after Madden NFL 2005‘s endorsement of Ray Lewis. For the curious, Troy Polamalu is the third player as he shared the cover of Madden NFL 10 with Larry Fitzgerald. And you can’t talk about the Madden cover without also talking about the Madden Curse. And Sherman, as is his way, is talking. The cornerback told ESPN: “I don’t believe in curses. I believe in God.”
However, EA Sports would prefer that we didn’t think about the Curse and instead focused on the first gameplay trailer of Madden NFL 15, which can be found after the break. (more…)
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel celebrates release date with moon dance trailer
In honor of announcing the October 14 release date for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (and the imminent 2014 E3 Expo), 2K has released this awesome new trailer featuring a moon dance. Yes, you heard me right: a moon dance. Watch the trailer above to see it in its full glory. While it’s no Doomsday trailer from Borderlands 2 (that trailer STILL gives me chills), it’s still pretty great.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on October 14.
Continue Countdown #5 – Mortal Kombat X, Forza Horizon 2, Pre-E3 Predictions, More
It’s the most wonderful time of the year as the 2014 E3 Expo is right around the corner. The Warp Zoned staff spent a recent night chatting about some of the big pre-E3 announcements during the latest episode of “Continue Countdown.” We pre-pre-judged Mortal Kombat X, Homefront: The Revolution, Forza Horizon 2, BattleCry, Battlefield Hardline, and Hyrule Warriors in the first six segments of the show.
But we also wanted to worry and fret over a trio of delayed games (Batman: Arkham Knight, The Order: 1886, and Quantum Break) as well as speculate about what a Smash Bros.-style Mario Kart game would be like (spoiler alert: it would be AWESOME). And the eternal question (How much would you pay for an E.T. cartridge excavated from a landfill?) was answered.
Finally, we slipped a few E3 predictions in there. We’re probably way off the mark, but it’s that magical pre-E3 time when anything seems possible.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will launch (to the moon) on October 14
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel now has a release date: October 14! This is ridiculously exciting news. The game, which is set between Borderlands and Borderlands 2, will document the rise to power of Handsome Jack. Check out the trailer above to see him recite his version of the poem “Ozymandias.”
They haven’t listed the participating retailers yet, but some pre-orders will include the “Shock Drop Slaughter Pit” bonus content, which will include unique in-game loot.
President of 2K Christoph Hartmann said, “The teams at Gearbox and 2K Australia have combined the best talent from both studios to create a Borderlands experience that we know fans are going to love… For those that haven’t played the critically acclaimed franchise, there’s never been a better time to jump in than with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.”
And everyone’s favorite dude, Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox, had this to say: “It’s incredibly exciting that an all-new Borderlands experience is as close as this October… If you’ve played any of the Borderlands games or if you have a friend who hasn’t yet, the opportunity to blast off as a new set of playable characters in a whole new campaign experience, including shooting and looting on the moon, is just around the corner.”
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be available on October 14 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Hit the jump for the full press release. (more…)
