Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy got a new trailer at PAX East 2017
The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was available to play during this weekend’s PAX East at the PlayStation booth, but publisher Activision also released a new trailer for those who couldn’t attend the Boston-based convention.
The trailer is actually a full playthrough of the “Hang Eight” level from Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, the second game in the N. Sane Trilogy. The package will also include the original Crash Bandicoot and the third game, Crash Bandicoot: Warped.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be released exclusively for the PS4 on June 30.

Aftercharge announced by Chainsawesome Games at PAX East 2017
Chainsawesome Games, the creators of 2015’s Knight Squad, set up shop at PAX East this past weekend to show off their new game, Aftercharge.
Like Knight Squad, Aftercharge is being built from the ground up for multiplayer play. But this time around, Chainsawesome is developing a first person shooter where three invisible robots known as “Workonics” battle a trio of invincible guards known as “Enforcers”:
Six structures called Extractors serve as the main objective for each side with the robots set to destroy them, and the guards tasked with defending them.
The game is set on distant planet Dusk 11 exploited by the Aftercharge corporation for the energy living at its core. The company is in trouble as their line of worker robots called Workonics are defecting because of the planet’s unstable energy. The robotic uprising is putting the company’s Extractors in danger. Initially built to avoid corporate espionage, the stealth Workonics require a very special set of armaments to deal with. Aftercharge has no choice but to send its special Enforcer squad to shut down the robots and protect their operations.
The other team are the Enforcers, they are class-based and rely on an arsenal of weapons and abilities to spot and stop the Workonics. They are invincible as no attack or abilities from the robots can harm them. Their weaponry uses energy rapidly and requires proximity with an Extractor to recharge. To win the match, they need to successfully deactivate all three robots simultaneously.
Aftercharge will be released for the PC and unnamed “Consoles” sometime in 2018.

PAX East 2017 gives us our first look at Tom Savini’s “Custom Jason” and a new trailer for Friday the 13th: The Game
Friday the 13th: The Game made an encore appearance at this weekend’s PAX East convention during Gun Media and Illfonic’s panel “From Film to Video Games: A Night with Friday the 13th: The Game.” As part of the panel, the developers unveiled a horrific new trailer that shows Jason dispatching another cohort of camp counselors in increasingly brutal fashion.
Gun Media didn’t announce an official launch date for Friday the 13th: The Game at PAX East, but with less than three weeks remaining in their current “Early 2017” release window, another delay for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One game seems likely.
Finally, the developer fully unmasked Tom Savini’s “Custom Jason,” which depicts the character’s damned fate after the end of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. You can get a closer look at Savini’s work after the break. (more…)

New Retail Releases: Danganronpa 1-2 Reload, Styx Shards of Darkness, Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+

Here’s what your local game retailer will be stocking their shelves with this week…
After making its North American debut on the Vita in 2014, NIS America will bring the Danganronpa franchise to the PS4 for the first time this week thanks to Danganronpa 1-2 Reload. The package will include the first two games in the series (Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair), and fans both new and old will get to experience the murderous machinations of Monokuma, the evil robotic bear at the center of the story.
If a murderous robotic bear isn’t bizarre enough for you, Nicalis will also launch The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ for the Nintendo Switch this week. Developed by Edmund McMillen, one of the co-creators of Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ is a procedurally-generated shooter (with RPG elements) that forces Isaac to fight back against the monsters in his basement.
Finally this week, Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studio will bring Styx: Shards of Darkness to the PS4 and Xbox One. The medieval stealth sequel asks Styx to infiltrate the city of Korrangar to steal a scepter of “immense and indomitable power.”
That’s all for now, but we’ll be back later this week with an expanded look at the latest additions to the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store, and Nintendo eShop.
