Get your first look at CoD: Advanced Warfare’s Ascendance Pack in a new trailer
Activision has released a trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Ascendance Pack, giving gamers their first glimpse at four brand new multiplayer maps (“Perplex,” “Site 244,” “Climate,” and “Chop Shop”), the next Exo Zombies episode, and a bonus new grappling ability. We wrote all about the new content found in the Ascendance Pack in case you need a refresher course.
And don’t forget, Activision will host an extended gameplay walkthrough of the Ascendance Pack on March 29 during the Call of Duty Championship.
Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be able to download the Ascendance Pack on Tuesday, March 31. Because of Activision’s exclusivity agreement with Microsoft, Advanced Warfare players on the PC, PS3, and PS4 will get the DLC a month later.
The Evil Within: The Consequence will be available on April 21
The Evil Within‘s first downloadable expansion, The Assignment, launched just two weeks ago. Today, Bethesda confirmed that they aren’t wasting any time and revealed plans to release the second expansion, The Consequence, in April.
The Evil Within: The Consequence will continue Juli Kidman’s adventures in and around Beacon Mental Hospital. Bethesda has released a teaser trailer to promote the expansion that is short on details so as not to spoil the surprise. But if you’ve got 19 seconds to kill, give it a watch.
The Consequence will be available to download for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on April 21.
Video Game Release Calendar Changelog #3: Spring Madness Edition

Don’t Forget! This is just a changelog of recently announced release dates. Warp Zoned’s complete Video Game Release Calendar includes every title we could find with a 2015, 2016, or unannounced release date.
Spring is in the air… well not literally as it’s still pretty cold out there in the northeast. But I hear it’s pretty crazy all over the place. Some kind of insanity has infected the populace and its scheduled to last throughout the month of March. A “March Madness” if you will. It’s a good thing we’ve got a new batch of release dates to round up.
Perhaps people are mad over the many delays that were recently announced including Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (Fall 2015 to Spring 2016), Homefront: The Revolution (TBA 2015 to TBA 2016), the console version of Hyper Light Drifter (TBA 2015 to TBA 2016), the PS3/Xbox 360 version of Mortal Kombat X (April 14 to sometime in the Summer), and Batman: Arkham Knight (June 2 to June 23).
Other new release dates of note include 3DS-exclusive Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (May 22), Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (June), and God of War III Remastered (July 14).
The full list of games included in our third Video Game Release Calendar Changelog can be found after the break. (more…)
Jaws of Hakkon is first Dragon Age: Inquisition expansion and its coming to PC, Xbox One first

BioWare has confirmed that Jaws of Hakkon, the first expansion for Dragon Age: Inquisition, will be available soon. But first, the developer will upload a trailer for the add-on, which will be released for the PC and Xbox One “first” as part of a timed exclusivity agreement. According to BioWare’s Twitter feed, we won’t have to wait long for the trailer, as it should be available tomorrow:
A new adventure awaits… http://t.co/B8PgTVDkdo #DAIJawsOfHakkon pic.twitter.com/xFdDBsOcfR
— Dragon Age (@dragonage) March 23, 2015
It’s unknown when the PS4 will receive the Jaws of Hakkon expansion, but if Microsoft’s contract with Electronic Arts is anything like their Call of Duty deal with Activision, it’ll probably follow along in a month or so.
While any hint as to the actual content of the expansion will have to wait until tomorrow’s trailer premiere, XboxAchievements has unveiled the four Achievements/Trophies that’ll be added to the game:
- Firestarter (15) – Destroy all the Winter Shards and light all the fires in the Old Temple
- Legend-Marked (30) – Impress the Avvar of Stone-Bear Hold and gain their friendship
- Historian (30) – Uncover the secrets of a legendary figure
- Winter’s End (90) – Dispel a myth of ancient days
Presumably, expansion plans for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Inquisition will be announced at a later date, but it’s very possible EA and BioWare will leave the previous generation behind with Jaws of Hakkon.
UPDATE: BioWare just tweeted that the Jaws of Hakkon expansion will released tomorrow for the PC and Xbox One alongside the trailer.
Game of Thrones: Episode 3 will be available starting tomorrow
Well isn’t this a nice Monday morning surprise? Telltale Games has announced the third episode of their Game of Thrones adaptation, The Sword in the Darkness, will be released for all seven platforms this week:
- March 24 – PC, PS3, PS4
- March 25 – Xbox 360, Xbox One
- March 26 – iOS, Android
A new trailer for The Sword in the Darkness has been embedded above and here’s what players can expect as they reach the halfway point of Telltale’s take on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire saga:
Asher, the exile, heads to Mereen in search of an army to take on the Whitehills. Meanwhile, far across land and sea in Westeros, Mira must deal with the lethal politics of King’s Landing. Her family’s safety is paramount and she will do anything to protect them, but nothing is given freely, and her choice of allies may soon come to haunt her. To the north, in Ironrath, the Whitehill occupation continues. Gryff Whitehill, fourth-born son, is out to prove himself, and brutality and violence grows daily, pushing the Forresters to make far-reaching decisions. Finally, at the Wall, Gared learns that he must head north if he is to help his house survive. But fate is cruel, forcing choices that will change his path forever.
Telltale has been releasing new episodes in their Game of Thrones about two months apart, so expect Episode 4 to launch sometime in late May/early June.
Kombat Pack confirms Liu Kang and Jax are koming to Mortal Kombat X too

Tonight’s trailer for the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack confirmed that Jason Voorhees, The Predator, Tanya, and Tremor will be joining the game after release as downloadable add-on characters. But the accompanying press release revealed that two other unannounced fighters, Liu Kang and Jax, will also be part of the main game.
Liu Kang’s involvement in the game is assured thanks to NetherRealm’s inclusion of a Klassic Liu Kang Skin as part of Klassic Pack #1. Jax will also receive a Klassic Skin (in Klassic Pack #2), but his bonus costume in the Predator/Prey Pack is the one that’ll get people talking. The Predator needs a nemesis and he’ll get one in the form of Dillon, the character played by Carl Weathers in Predator. Weathers will reprise his role as Dillon for the special Predator-Themed Jax Skin.
The complete contents of the Kombat Pack can be found after the break and mark your calendars, Mortal Kombat X is just a few short weeks away. PC, PS4, and Xbox One owners will be able to play it on April 14 while PS3 and Xbox 360 players will have to wait until the Summer. (more…)
NetherRealm officially unveils Kombat Pack with Jason, The Predator, Tanya, and Tremor
After this morning’s Predator leak, NetherRealm Studios has decided to just roll with it and announce all four characters that will be added to Mortal Kombat X as part of the Kombat Pack Season Pass. In addition to Jason Voorhees and The Predator, the Kombat Pack will also give players access to two “Klassic Kombatants”: Tanya and Tremor.
Tanya made her first appearance in Mortal Kombat 4 and would later go on to appear in Deception and Armageddon. Clad in yellow, Tanya is often depicted as a rival to Jade (the Mileena to her Kitana, if you will).
Meanwhile, Tremor is a Black Dragon that has never appeared as a selectable character in any Mortal Kombat game. However, he was momentarily playable in the Challenge Tower of 2012’s Vita port of Mortal Kombat. Prior to that, his only appearance was in Mortal Kombat: Special Forces, a beat ’em up spinoff released back in the PlayStation days. But a loyal fan following has finally made his big league call-up a reality.
The Kombat Pack is priced at $29.99, but it’s also included in every Mortal Kombat X special edition. Each character will also be available separately for those who aren’t interested in all four.
Mortal Kombat X will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 14 with a PS3/Xbox 360 port to follow in the Summer.
