Are you attending next weekend’s PAX Prime convention? If so, you’ll have a chance to try out Nintendo’s entire Fall lineup as the consolemaker is planning to display ten games on the show floor.
But if you live in the Seattle area you couldn’t make it into PAX Prime, don’t worry, The Big N has got you covered. On Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30 the company will pop in to various public spots in Seattle with copies of Super Smash Bros. For 3DS in hand. To find out where, follow along with Nintendo’s Twitter feed and keep an eye out for the #SmashBash hashtag.
Nintendo will also hold a special after hours event for Hyrule Warriors at Renaissance Seattle Hotel (515 Madison St.) on Friday from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Fans will be allowed inside on a first-come, first-served basis, but you can jump to the head of the line if you cosplay as your favorite character from The Legend of Zelda.
Both games will also be available on the PAX Prime show floor, along with Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and several others.
Hit the jump for the complete list. (more…)

NIntendo Download: Disney Infinity, Mega Man VI, more
With the launch of Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes less than a month away, Disney Interactive doesn’t want anyone to forget about the first entry in their crossover franchise. So, beginning today, they’ve partnered with Nintendo to offer a free download of Disney Infinity from the Wii U eShop. Obviously, you’ll have to purchase your own Portal Base and figures, but this is a good deal for someone looking to break into the Disney Infinity universe for the first time.
Elsewhere on this week’s eShop update is a trio of Virtual Console titles now available for the first time. The last Mega Man game on the NES, Mega Man VI, can be downloaded on the Wii U along with Life Force, the first of many spinoffs/sequels to Gradius. Meanwhile, the 3DS is now home to Xtreme Sports, one of the first games developed by WayForward and originally released for the Game Boy Color in 2000.
Rounding this week’s new releases are Midtown Crazy Race (Wii U), an arcade-style racer; BlazBlue: Clonephantasma (3DS), a cartoony brawler; and Demon King Box (3DS), a mature RPG.
More information on all of these games can be found after the break. (more…)

There’s “No Going Back” as The Walking Dead Season 2 ends next week
Telltale Games has announced that “No Going Back,” the final episode of The Walking Dead Season 2, will be available next week. But before you watch the trailer embedded above, you may want to heed the warning that came with it (all the bolding was done by Telltale to let you know they’re serious):
This trailer includes a special all-new scene just for the trailer and some MAJOR spoilers for previous episodes in the past two seasons, but contains no spoilers for the upcoming season finale.
Here’s the release schedule for the final episode of The Walking Dead Season 2. If you’ve been playing the game on an Android device, Telltale asks that you be patient as they’ll have an official release date for all Android devices, including tablets and micro-consoles, “as they become available.”
Tuesday, August 26:
PC/Mac via Steam, the Telltale Online Store, and other digital distribution services
PS3 and PS Vita via PlayStation Store in North AmericaWednesday, August 27
Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Marketplace
PS3 and PS Vita via PlayStation Store in North America in European territoriesThursday, August 28
iOS App Store
As always, “No Going Back” will be individually priced at $4.99 on each platform. It is also included as part of the Season Pass, which carries a $19.99 price tag.
Jimmy Fallon and Pierce Brosnan play GoldenEye 007 on Tonight Show
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play GoldenEye 007 against the real James Bond? Unlike most of the folks (myself included) who spent hours blasting their friends in the Facility with Proximinity Mines, Jimmy Fallon can actually make it happen.
Pierce Brosnan was on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night to promote his new movie, The November Man. As the interview was winding down, Fallon pulled out an N64 and got to live out one of his childhood fantasies by battling Bond in a deathmatch. As you’d expect (especially if you’re Auric Goldfinger), Brosnan is not an expert GoldenEye player and Fallon wipes the floor with him.
Duh, nuh, na, na, duh, nuh, nuh.

The Behemoth gives us our first look at Game 4
The Behemoth has released a teaser video for their next game, the still untitled Game 4, and this glimpse behind the curtain has revealed a few things about the in-development title. For example, we now know that the game is of a genre The Behemoth has never tackled before and that BattleBlock Theater‘s Will Stamper will return to narrate the action. We also learned that it takes place in the aftermath of an alien bear’s outer space swan dive into Earth.
However, after typing and re-typing that opening paragraph, I am left with several rather important questions…
1. Are they serious about the bear thing? They must be serious, right?
2. What’s up with the science-y hexagons?
4. Why can’t I play it now?
To answer that last question, The Behemoth has confirmed that we’ll all get a chance to play Game 4 at this year’s PAX Prime convention, which will be held from August 29 through September 1 in Seattle, Washington. Provided a giant space bear doesn’t crash into the planet.

XBL Store Today: Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, The Golf Club
The Xbox One received a pair of new games in this week’s Xbox Live Games Store… and both are all about relaxing.
For example, what’s more relaxing than choosing your character and then busting the heads of a horde of demons? It calms the nerves and it rewards you with copious amounts of loot. I speak, of course, about Diablo III. Blizzard’s action RPG comes to the Xbox One as part of the Ultimate Evil Edition, which includes the original game and the Reaper of Souls expansion.
Also available this week is The Golf Club, a brand new golf simulation from a brand new studio. HB Studios has created a golf game that offers procedurally generated courses for endless rounds of golf. Fore!
More information on both games can be found after the break. (more…)
