Daily Scoop: September 12, 2012 – Encounters!
At last week’s Dungeons & Dragons Encounter session, my party did pretty well – they were able to defeat the ambushing svirfneblin and finish the encounter out. My boyfriend’s party, however, suffered a TPK (total party knockout), which left many disgruntled folks. They have created a new party from the ashes, and will try to survive the evening. We’ll see how that goes!
Nothing is going on today, really. I mean, other than the fact that I’ve decided to start using Twitter again, and through it, am kept in the loop way more than I ever was on Facebook. Also, I want to go to PAX Australia. I have family over there. What are the odds they are near PAX? (Please say good!)
I’ve got some interesting t-shirts for you today! Ready? (more…)

Borderlands 2 Mechromancer DLC coming October 16
The Borderlands 2 pre-order bonus news is finally official: you’ll be able to play as Gaige the Mechromancer, pictured above, starting October 16. The DLC will be free to those who pre-order the game at participating retailers (which, according to the Blands 2 website, seems to be just Amazon, Best Buy, or GameStop). For those who don’t have the Premiere Club Membership, the DLC will cost $9.99/800 MSP.
I am so excited for Borderlands 2 that I can’t stop playing the 16-bit demake. Also, have you seen the skill trees yet? How is it not September 18 already?!?!

Terraria announced for PSN, XBLA
Get ready to build yourself into the wee hours of the morning! 505 Games has announced it’s bringing the popular PC side-scrolling block-building game, Terraria, to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
In Terraria, you can collect a huge amount of items and materials to build a giant home base so you can protect yourself from the perils of the outside… as well as craft even more items. The massive world is full of monsters just ready to eat and/or provide sweet drops for you.
Terraria was first released in 2011 by creator and developer Andrew Sprinks’ studio, Re-logic. The game’s 1.6 million players have added much to the world, and hopefully console players will bring even more.
Tim Woodley, Head of Global Brand for 505 Games, said, “The block-building genre has taken the world by storm and Terraria has garnered a massive following through its increased focus on adventure and discovery. We’re looking forward to bringing an already hugely successful experience to a brand new console audience and we can’t wait for the existing Terraria fan base to experience all-new content”.
Sprinks is excited as well. “I can’t say how excited I am to finally have Terraria come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3!” he said. “To see it come so far is a complete shock, especially after such humble beginnings. It’s always been my dream to have as many people as possible know and enjoy Terraria as much as I have, and this is another big step in that direction! It’s been awesome working with 505 Games, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the additional features that they’ve been able to bring to this new edition of the game.”
Terraria will be available on the PSN and XBLA in early 2013.
Daily Scoop: September 11, 2012 – Save your pennies
So, it’s Tuesday, and there’s really no deals. That is a good thing, though. Why, you ask? Well, because one sweet week from today, Borderlands 2 comes out. Why bother buying any games to clog up your backlog more when you’ve got a million hours you’re about to sink into Pandora? Seriously. Save your money for that and the book coming out the following week, Borderlands Unconquered.
There is one small exception, of course… today’s t-shirts. But first, this comic is pretty rad. And this one.
But yeah, shirts! (more…)
Daily Scoop: September 10, 2012 – A+ edition!
Woohoo! So all that hard work this term paid off – I got an A+ in a class I took! I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself. And now I’m officially 1/3 of the way done with this program! Just ten more classes to go, and this masters is MINE.
Anyway, how was your weekend, Internet? I spent it playing games, playing more games, and then playing some more games. Those games included Rainbow Moon, Dungeons & Dragons, A Link to the Past, and Cards Against Humanity. Pretty great list, right? Oh and we also saw Expendables 2, which was way more fun than I expected it to be. Chuck Norris stole the show.
What deals have I got for you today? Well, Amazon is selling Radiant Historia for $24.99! This DS game by Atlus is absolutely amazing and everyone should own it. It’s a time-travelling RPG with awesome characters, a great battle system, and a haunting soundtrack. Seriously – buy it! Oh, and if you pre-order World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, you can get into the Beta. If you’re going to buy it anyway, you might as well pre-order, am I right?
Check out the t-shirts I found after the break! (more…)

Daily Scoop: September 7, 2012 – Get ready to rock!
We made it! We survived to the weekend. Great job, everyone! Another work week in the rear-view mirror. Time to go home and game myself silly.
Speaking of silly gaming, have you seen the Borderlands demake? No? Well go do it. Don’t worry, I’ll wait.
Back? Great! Sad to say there aren’t really any deals going on today. Well, no new deals. Old deals from earlier this week are still happening, so go scope those out!
Some shirts and a cool bonus after the break! (more…)

Daily Scoop: September 6, 2012 – Nearly the weekend!
Whoa! Tomorrow is Friday already! Welcome to the weekend. I love short weeks. In fact, I think it would be great if all weeks could be shorties like this one. Wishful thinking…
Let’s see… not a lot going on, deals-wise. But you can check out what Amazon’s got for under $30. There’s some good stuff there, including Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception for the staggeringly low price of $19.81. Whew. Scoop it up!
A couple of really rad shirts wait for you after the jump! (more…)

Fortress Review: Giving Solitaire A New Coat of Paint

Fortress is a little indie game on the App store made by Ray Merkler, a game designer in the Philadelphia area. Painstakingly crafted with love, Fortress is a one- or two-player game that recreates solitaire as a war game, giving it far more personality and fun. It doesn’t hurt that it’s cute, colorful, and pretty darn addictive. So what makes Fortress so special? (more…)
